I mean they do have BIG personalities but I think emotions might be a a little more stunted just because they are animals so they use their basic instincts. IMO the more domesticated ones probably show a lot more because they aren't fighting for survival.

For instance, my beardie seems happy when he's snuggled into my jacket since it smells like me and doesn't move around when its uncomfortable like I do. He's insanely pissed off if he shits in his cage to the point of actually rearranging everything in his tank to cover it, as well as turning black to show his anger (I dont think any other beardie gets that pissed about pooping in their cage).

He's also very determined, like mega determined. If I pick him up and move him away from whatever it is he's trying to do, he will just go right back to doing it. His giant head is about the size of my palm, he can't fit under some things and after all these years you'd think he'd understand that. NOPE. He wanted to go under my tv stand, I turned him away a few times but he wanted under it, kept at it for an hour. This is how he ended up

fucker just backed into it instead, went as far back as he could. I mean, he technically got what he wanted? His front arm there is backwards like that because I think I'd just woken him up, so he had a good time under the stand lol.
That is a tenaciousness that stubborn bastards everywhere can respect.

Snakes have such cute lil' faces. A lot of reptiles look emotive. But do they actually have emotions? I've seen giant tortoises enjoy being petted. But maybe that mimics behavior by tortoise friends.
from what I have heard they do and I saw a few videos of people with big lizards that greet their owners like dogs

That my dream lizzo btw, it's a Leachie. The price went up and I cant seem to find the hatchlings for (lowend) under $1000, the adults $2400. Quite a few of them are named Kiwi from what the internet tells me.
Holy fucking shit. I remember leachies being like 300 dollars for a hatchling when I was still in the hobby.

Let me amend my statement. It seems you can get the younger hatchlings at around 400, however the place I go never has the really little ones, i think they have ones old enough to be sexed and thus sold at higher prices, if not that, then the price is high because of the stupid morphs. Maybe the hatchlings haven't changed drastically but in the span of year the adults sure as shit went up and it makes me salty.

Crested geckos have gone way up too, those things have crazy ass morphs now and I've seen some go for 400+

You could just look around for reptile shows. I've gotten some great deals at them before. I used to keep a trio of acanthurus monitors and I had a beautiful red ackie I picked up for 200 dollars. His buddies were yellows though
