I rented that one and just didn't like it. I don't think there was a single actually good Simpsons game back in the 8 and 16 bit era. The only good one is Hit and Run.
I liked the DS game as a kid, but I haven't played it in years so I don't know how well it holds up.

Anyone remember this SNES game where you play as Krusty and get rid of rodents by solving puzzles or something like that?

That was one of the two games I had for the Sega Game Gear.

But the Arcade Game was pretty dope...

A few years ago I was working in New Hampshire, and I went to the Funspot in Laconia on a day off. The Simpsons Arcade Game was literally the only game down for maintenance.

"I have laryngitis and it hurts to talk, so I'll just say one thing - you never do anything right."
Sadly that's what it sounds like now.

Why don't they just have an entire farewell season?

A whole season of alternate series finales. A different writer for each one. Maybe guest directors. Maybe have fans vote on things. They could really make a huge deal of it.

They've definitely got the money and 30+ years of show to justify it.
I wouldn't mind this at all, having episodes done by different people in whatever way they choose to do it as. They could be homages, spoofs, retreads or anything at all.

I remember everyone I know having Bart vs the Space Mutants for NES and Virtual Bart on SNES. Just those two for whatever reason.

I don't remember anyone ever really enjoying them, but the cool kids had them and they got played a lot, probably just because of the novelty of playing the Simpsons.
You forgot Bart vs. The World for the NES! That one is easy to forget though!

I forgot that one. Such a shame it didn't get ported to the home systems back in the day.
Only for the Commodore 64 and the PC! Heck if the SNES had it, nobody would complain!

There was also "Virtual Springfield"....

There's a barcade near me that has it in their collection.

Once upon a time, I think I kind of thought it really would be the last episode.

Friend of mine likes to joke it was the last of the simpsons in the prime timeline and this a shit alternate where the simpsons dragged on and we're in a dystopia where unrealistic nostalgia for the past is killing us socially and culturally.

The only truly good Simpsons video games were the original Konami arcade game and Simpsons Hit & Run.

A lot of good memories were had playing Hit & Run on the PS2 back in the mid-2000's.

That being said, Simpsons Road Rage and Virtual Springfield were decent. Not great, but okay.

The less said about Simpsons Wrestling, the better...

Just re-watched $pringfield (Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling). I love how it was only barely an episode but more clearly a collection of one-off gags they couldn't figure out how to fit in a proper episode.
"What if we showed a post-war propaganda movie about Springfield manufacturing amphibious cars"

"What if Bart ran a casino from his tree house where they bet on whether or not nerds would embarass themselves"

"What if Lisa had a nightmare about the Boogeyman but Homer thought it was real"

"What if Mr. Burns became a crazy recluse germophobe"

"What if Homer was in Rain Man"

But somehow they all connected it together in a brilliant story about economic prosperity, a gambling addiction, and a father who fails at being a house-dad.

Add also "What if James Bond was in Sprinfield casino?", a deleted scene who was supposed to be in the episode aired during the 138th Simpsons spectacular.

I always loved the subplot about Burns going nuts. And I think the Homer/Lisa one really cut to the heart of who Classic Homer is - he’s an idiot and a slob, but he always wants to do right by his daughter.

Krusty's Super Funhouse for the SNES is a good Lemmings clone.

I'll always have a fondness for those early Simpsons games (Arcade, Bart's Nightmare, Bart vs. The Space Mutants) because they reflect the cultural zeitgeist of the first two seasons focusing on Bart, and not Homer, as the show's breakout character.

They say Bart The Daredevil was the beginning of Duh HOMUH Show.

"YER OWA AEH OO OR AUER"*

"Think before you say each word."

*(think that's how it went)
I sorta recall it being like "Yer getta furder ratta aurah!", but I guess that's close!

Plus we also get our favorite Ralph moment!

Being that age, we all wanted to be Bart too!

I wouldn't doubt that.

One of my favourite episodes is Bart of Darkness.

The show at that time always threw together wacky stuff into really good episodes.

"Let me be blunt: is there a labor crisis in America today?"

"Wow... the universe is so boring!"
