The Official Simpsons Griefing Thread

Ah that reminds me, the show still exists. Boy I wonder what amusing antics the simpsons family will get up to in the next few episodes....

I saw the season 36 premiere (obviously through piracy) but my god all the voice actors sound old and they are really patting themselves on the back for how they'll continue this show forever
I think the beginning was alright. I have a huge soft spot for Conan. The “never before seen finales” were funny. But then they just started repeating the same two jokes over and over again. Like we get it the supplemental characters are all having their own “series finales.” Even Bart was tired of everyone turning off the lights.

They were going for a “138th Episode Spectacular” and “Spinoff Showcase.” But both those episodes had way more fun and originality. Hell “Behind The Laughter” was way more entertaining. Like they could have had a sequence where Conan went behind the scenes in “The Writer’s Room” or did an interview with the idealized Matt Groening.
You could have I dunno talked more about how the fictional Simpsons had legal lawsuits like made a whole joke that New Orleans sued the show for defamation. Maybe have Tracy Ullman make a new cameo and made it a joke that she was only there for money James L Brooks screwed her out of. I dunno something that the hardcore nerds like me would get a kick out of.

I’d rate it a D. I think the only cheap member berries sight gag I got a kick out of was seeing the “Homer At Bat” baseball players one more time. I don’t know why they had the Nu-Celebrities appear when even they made it clear that people only remember 90s Simpsons.

Went through highlights of this long thread to make sure I did not repeat a topic:

I'm hearing about a "series finale" for the Simpsons after 36 seasons of being on the air. It aired yesterday, how was it? On another note, the freemium mobile game, The Simpsons Tapped Out, is sunsetting its servers on January 25, 2025 before being pulled from app stores on October 31, 2024.

I didn't think much of the delisting and shutdown other than it's EA and they have the rights to make Simpsons video games. Now, with the series finale that aired, it's all coming together. Quite sad that a mobile game is the last Simpsons game to be released so far. (Well, I guess you can plays semantics by counting the Homer Simpson figurine in Lego Dimensions.)

I looked up the fake series finale on wikipedia cuz I kept hearing about it and the premise was that an ai called "hack gpt" wrote the finale and I lost interest immediately

I will never believe the retards that say "The Simpsons are good again" when they think the death note parody was the best treehouse of horror in decades because it's the same shitty writing with an anime art style

So I actually read the article. Kamala said a line from a "classic" Simpsons episode. It was a line that the villain of the episode said. (Whichever one of the pair of aliens that took over Bill Clinton in the
96 tree house of horror episode.)

But the best part is, someone apparently *tricked* Harris into saying that line over a decade ago. (Despite it being more of less her current day campaign platform.) "Move forward cause we won't go back". Doesn't really seem like a win for her.

I have noticed the whole "it's gpood again" copmments are usually heard towards episodes that are meta and follow a gimmick. The issue these people don't realize is that to what point do these these meta gimmick episodes remain good before getting stale? I yhave noticed that these "better episodes" get used as a reason why the show sholuldn't end, without any thought to the fact that eventuially the new direction that its in will wear off.

Or ones that don't feel like Simpsons episodes like the one about Flanders's Grandpa being a cop or Marge and Homer being stuck naked in the woods and hunted by a wild animal.

How long before someone will said "Family Guy did it!"? :story:
I think one of the treehouse of horrors came pretty close to ripping off the family guy pilot. Both were about Peter and Homer assuming the role of the grim reaper after they rendered the previous unable. IIRC it was just different enough to not warrant a "Family Guy did it"
