Did she not notice that Marvin Monroe was retired because his voice was too hard for Harry Shearer?
And Homers voice was a lot deeper in Season one, Castenellata couldn't handle that voice.

Ya know given the rate of tech advancement, its entirely probable that by the time the most crucial cast members start dying off, voice synthesizers will have gotten to the point where execs could just have an unpaid intern mumble lines into a mic and get pitch perfect Frank Azaria at his prime. Hell perhaps the execs are already hoping the OG cast dies/retires so they can roll out their 'new and improved' voice actors for a fraction of the cost.

Is the show super popular in other countries or something? That's the only thing I can think of that could justify this.

Nowhere close to the best, but they're decent...also, I'd like to think the show is still going on because it was Fox's first major moneymaker and I guess they see more of that cash cow to milk.

The reason it keeps going is for the merchandise sales. Plus they have a theme park to think of. Fox makes something like a billion a year in merchandise. I'm still surprised considering Al Jean explicitly said he wanted it to end at season 30.
I wonder if Disney will finally euthanize it? It gives them a good opportunity to reboot.

It is very popular in South America. There are channels that play Simpson episodes non-stop.
