Depends on your definition of "burn", perhaps, but caramelized onions are damned good.Yellow onions are the best type of onion. Delicious when cooked, delicious when raw, and can be cooked and eaten in any way you can imagine. The only way to mess up a yellow onion is to burn it.
I want to try the blooming onion at outback steakhouse one day. Funny thing, I've never seen it in AustraliaThis may be going too far but I think onion rings are better than french fries (usually).
I remember not too long ago I did the same but with chorizo instead of bacon. I scrambled a few eggs and put it in a sandwich.I'll fry onions in bacon grease after the bacon is done, then crack an egg over them once they're caramelized. Really, i can't think of anything i've cooked recently that didn't have onions in it.
