The Open Secret of Google Search

I wonder why?

Most of the web has become too inauthentic to trust,” Brereton argued, therefore “we resort to using Google, and appending the word ‘reddit’ to the end of our queries.
I think it goes without saying that different mediums are better at conveying information and for some reason reddit, a link agregator, has become a major host for small wikis and largely replaced dedicated forums. There a dozens of ways to go about this and aside from the obvious critiques of reddit administration this is a huge problem for data accessibility. Like discord-isation this puts information in the hands of one company in a way that isn't exactly designed to be searched. Have you ever gone googling and found the answer isn't online and you're told to join an IRC chatroom or a discord and found the chat is dead? If that info was on a wiki or a forum it would be preserved but everyone decided making a rizion room would be easier and IRC would never go out of style. Imagine that but everywhere, horrific.
