It did, but the gameplay for me was more fun as I outlined above, it scratches the itch better than this one does. I'm trying to get through a 2nd playthrough, just isn't as fun for me. The combat feels like a chore, especially on the higher difficulty levels and isn't really satisfying. I think 4 took a couple of rolls before it started to get stale for me (Sniper, stealth, melee, Power Armor with big guns, Critical/Vats pistol build), while as here it seems more limited.Hmm. I'm not sure I agree with this. Fallout 4's factions where just as one-note or gimmicky as this game, outside of Far Harbor. Really, Fallout 4 had a lot of the same problems this game did, it just had a huge open world that satisfies that exploration itch that makes Bethesda games fun. We're just used to Obsidian not having these issues and instead a good amount of other issues.
The factions are one note or gimmicky, but are visually and the gimmick is distinct for each one in FO4. When I look at TOW, there seems like a lot of copy paste with the factions. The Iconoclasts are pretty much the same as the Deserters - A group of people who have separated from the main Corporate city and has grievance with them. I'm sure lore wise there is a difference, but on my first play through it seemed to be the same to me, just on a different planet.
