I highly doubt it was Harvey that fucked up.

I'd unironically date PJ Harvey even though she's almost 20 years older than me. I've never impressed by celebrity, the only time I have been is when I first saw Amigo the Devil and realized this guy is a rising star (I will make a thread on him sometime soon), and if PJ Harvey spoke to me I'd probably be unable to respond since I have the hots for her that bad. I bet if she met me back in the day, she would have wanted to spend her life with me. I'm really cool like that. :biggrin:

Seriously though, I do have a type, and PJ Harvey is exactly within that type. I hope none of you can fault me for simping for her.

I can't blame you at all for simping, mate, PJ's a extraordinarily talented and hot cougar I'm sure a lot of men (and women *ahem*) would be infatuated with.

Nick Cave's always been a wreck when it comes to relationships. I've read enough about his failed previous marriage and drug/alcohol abuse to know that he was probably the one of the worse people a woman could've dated. Artists tend to be like that - high-strung, erratic and incapable of seeing beyond themselves. That's why they either die from an overdose, burn-out or finally calm the fuck down in their twilight years. If you listen to Cave's more recent stuff compared to his earlier works, he just sounds exhausted - the violent, explosive rush of being Nick Cave finally caught up with him and he's tired and ready to settle down. Which is a good thing.

PJ still sounds vibrant and ready to try new things and new sounds; and collaborate with other artists like Harry Escott, Josh Parish, etc. - to make new works in different directions to her earlier stuff. She's still going strong.

Indeed. Cave created 'The Boatman's Call' album shortly after the break up and it was essentially an entire album dedicated to Harvey. That's how much she inspired/shook him. One of my favs from that album is 'West Country Girl' which is a song entirely about PJ.


That and 'Green Eyes' and 'Black Hair' make PJ sound like some sort of mystical being rather than an actual woman. Polly Jean, the baobhan sith of the West Country.

lol You could be right, maybe she did steal his soul after she devoured his heart?
