I wouldn't be so sure about that. The whole "no going back" part is what I think would drive the vast majority of people away.
Sure there's a lot of grandstanding ITT, but I think most people here are sincere when they say they wouldn't plug in. That is even if for no reason other than to grandstand about refusing to plug in when the opportunity rose. That sort of facade only tends to falter when an actual struggle is involved, like "tough guys" who go around saying they could take down an active shooter if given the opportunity... but would certainly be crying like a little bitch if put in that position. In this case, though, there is no struggle. You either make that PERMANENT decision or you walk away and live life as you were. I think at least 90% of people (myself included) are complacent enough to go with the latter.
