One part of the EO directs the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to produce a policy that protects women "seeking single-sex rape shelters" and other intimate spaces, which Strangio objected to.
Strangio claimed this would, "in essence, exclude trans people from various forms of shelter system, under the auspices that a trans person is an inherent threat to non-transgender women."
After refusing to call biological women "women," Strangio added that this part of the order "just enhances the risk that transgender people face in society, if we are deemed as a threat to others simply by existing."

Late, but only now I got around to watching Todd in the Shadows' video on James Somerton and read the comments. While people rightfully point out that Somerton is an obvious stereotypical misogynistic faggot who keeps coming up with excuses and made up bullshit to shit on women at every opportunity, I've seen a handful of comments saying how "not all people who enjoy MLM media are straight women, some are transmen, and it was MLM media that made them realize they were trans!". Also, a lot of yaoi shiz is just straight up porn. It's cartoon or written, yes. But most of the content is NSFW or has NSFW in it. And the plot lines are also really inappropriate as well. Lots of incest plot lines, huge age gaps if not outright underage, toxic dynamics, etc. I think a lot of people really underestimate the level of degen this stuff is beyond the basic "it's *gasp* boys kissing". People will also say that it's so they can fantasize without their insecurities around being female popping up and to a certain extent that's true, I guess. But I don't fully buy it. One in the pairing is very obviously the stand in for the girl and despite everything else the dynamics between the characters are very heterosexual and not just because they don't really have a sense for anything else but because that is a dynamic they genuinely like and want to see played out. The big stronk one taking care of (or dominating) the smaller or just more submissive generally is a romantic ideal to a lot of them. That hardly screams wanting to be distanced from male/female dynamics to me. They're just being pervy.

Female/male dynamic where you are the weaker one is just not something they want to be a part of, even if it's make believe. Or rather they think they don't want that that because they don't want to be hurt and don't know how to do that as women because they are immature and haven't learned those skills yet. Having guys to play both parts is just a better deal. You get two hotties rather than one hot guy and a boring female that remains you about every feminine insecurity you have.
Plus the yaoi fem twinks feel closer to the teenboys peers who are not manly men because they are also immature. I'm not saying these characters are like actual teenboys but just closer than the more manly dream babes and that makes them feel more attainable.

I'm not outright discounting that. But there is a trend to try to over explain simple behaviors because it sounds nicer when girls have a sympathetic reason for doing something. But there are a lot of girls and women into this shit that have relationships with men and who do not "grow out of it". Being shy around boys and having insecurities when comparing yourself to whatever you think the ideal woman is, isn't what makes shit like Killing Stalking exist. And it's that level of extreme that a lot of the ones that end up pooning out are on. I think a lot of people really underestimate how entwined being in online spaces/fandom and this sort of stuff is. Even if you're not outright into it yourself the ships, tropes, and discussions are going to find their way into just about everything. It's one of the reason I stopped being "in fandom" because you can't do anything without also having to deal with people that into that stuff and want to make everything about it. Maybe if you're into the less creative side of things you can avoid them. It's practically impossible to create small, curated spaces to keep it out too. Because someone will want to invite somebody and it goes on from there. And if it isn't fujos or pooners, it's trannies and handmaidens. Shit sucks.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not saying any of this to be particularly sympathetic to pooners. Pooners are lunatics but their behavior stems from normalish female patterns and I think it's important to understand those so you know what line pooners are crossing and where. Most girls into yaoi just like it for while and nothing more, pooners are outliers. Annoying and loud outliers but outliers nevertheless.
It's same as troons. Most guys form their taste women during puberty as their sex drive kicks in but most guys don't go to cosplay as their teencrush.
