War The Power Struggle Begins: FBI Director Kash Patel Instructs Staff Not to Respond to Elon Musk’s “Productivity” Emails - DO NOT REDEEM SAAAAAARRRRRSSSSS -FBI Director Kash Patel

FBI Director Kash Patel ordered bureau staff Saturday to ignore an email from the Office of Personnel Management—an initiative backed by Elon Musk—demanding federal workers justify their jobs or resign. This directive comes as Patel is expected to take the helm of a second federal agency.

The email, sent shortly after Musk’s announcement on Twitter, required employees to outline their weekly contributions.IMG_2396.jpeg

Patel, sworn in Friday, swiftly pushed back.

“FBI personnel may have received an email from OPM requesting information,” he stated. “The FBI, through the Office of the Director, is in charge of all of our review processes… For now, please pause any response.”

Musk, an unpaid “special government employee,” has spearheaded a federal overhaul, cutting thousands of jobs and shutting down agencies without congressional approval. He insists that federal employees who fail to respond will be considered resigned. However, OPM’s email did not include that stipulation.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is set to appoint Patel, 44, as acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This comes after Attorney General Pam Bondi fired ATF Chief Counsel Pamela Hicks, citing alleged bias against gun owners.

Patel’s swift rise follows the resignation of former FBI Director Christopher Wray, who stepped down before Trump’s inauguration. The Senate narrowly confirmed Patel, with only two Republicans crossing party lines. Trump has tasked him with reforming the FBI and eliminating alleged partisan bias within the agency.

I could see Patel wanting to handle this his own way, especially since I'm guessing the type of people at the FBI who need to be removed definitely can list five things they did and also are cunning enough to keep their head down unlike fedditors who'll send some smarmy answer.

I think the article is missing the point. This is just another scare for workers . They are just scaring then so they are malleable. You create an atmosphere of fear via stuff like this, then you have workers who know their jobs are on the line and who are more likely to be cowed and controllable. It makes some of them just quit, that’s a load gone without you doing anything. It’ll make a few more sound off about it in ways you can fire them for. The rest are on notice, and feel like they’re under siege from outside but hey! This new kash guy is protecting us a bit.
It just smacks of psychological manipulation ahead of the real play to me.

The leftist media strategy is to try to turn the administration against itself. This is a ruse of a story.

That was my first thought. Is this a "power struggle" between Elon Musk and Kash Patel or is this just "Republican infighting" fan-fiction by leftist media/Democrats? Just a week ago, they were playing up tensions between "President Musk" and Trump before they assured Sean Hannity that it's all baloney.

I remain open to the possibility of Indian backstabbing but for now I'll give Patel the benefit of the doubt and the mainstream media, none.

Hopefully it's the good cop Patel and bad cop Musk routine. Give them a false sense of security.

I like how they try to frame this against what was actually said to try to give the image of a power struggle.
"Send our reviews when they're done the way they should be."

That prompted me to check up on the website this article is from:

Even so this is still a stupid thing for Musk to do and his company should be investigated for obviously lax clearance standards. At his own expense.

I've been at private companies where they start doing shit. This doesn't improve productivity as people see the writing on the wall and start looking for other opportunities while deciding to stop giving a shit about your work, leading to less productivity. These aren't pajeets who need to fear deportation.
Kash is going to send an update that instead of 5 bullet points he wants 10, and he wants the reports submitted weekly.
Federal employees do do performance reviews.
Almost like a retarded, ketamine addict manchild with no experience in government procedures shouldn’t be going around government procedures to make it look like he is more aggressive in cutting the government.
I think Elon is to used to working with H1s that he could deport. Honestly don't get conservatives getting joy in treating people like goy cattle

Didn't Elon do this exact same thing just days after he walked into Twitter HQ holding that stupid sink? How did that pan out, I cannot remember. (Genuine question, not sarcasm.)

I mean it’s possible. But playing head games is very risky and doesn’t engender loyalty much especially if the masses find out you were toying with them. I guess we will see.

Twitter is a hellscape of botted accounts and memecoin hustlers. I mean more so than it was before. It’s literally sorting through a bale of junk mail to find the few genuine letters.

No, I mean when he assumed ownership of the company and started trimming the fat and not paying anyone their severance packages. I swear I remember people who worked for Twitter bitching about Elon making them send a weekly report email about what they were working on or had accomplished. I just don't remember how that panned out.

As people have already said this is nowhere as bad of a "power struggle" as media is trying to make it out to be.

Hell, the e-mail itself says that "if you work with classified stuff or are not allowed to shared details because of security reasons just say so" (paraphrasing).

Saar is probably just telling people not to redeem to make sure that security concern is followed.

I don’t mean it’s a sophisticated head game to make them more loyal and work harder. I mean it’s literally breaking them down ahead of the main shot. I’ve lived through this at a company I worked for. New ceo, place turned insane, this kind of stuff happened. Layoffs, rumours of layoffs, all that sort of thing. I left and hot a new job because I knew I could but I also thought if they fired a load of people it’d be harder to get that new job.
It was in our case this weird kind of pre punishment, setting people up for the main killshot. It’s head games, it’s supposed to be destructive not constructive

Even so this is still a stupid thing for Musk to do and his company should be investigated for obviously lax clearance standards.
SpaceX was covering up his drug use and some of his foreign connections until whistleblowers reported them to an inspector general. DODIG, the Air Force, and the USD(I&S) opened investigations last year. When this was reported by the NYT, Musk declared the whistleblowers "deep state traitors" and that was the extent of his public comment. The current status of the investigations is unclear, but I guess they have been called off.

I'm pretty sure this is because Kash has his own ideas on how to weed out the useless people in the FBI. His first step has been to sending about 1,000 FBI Agents out of the DC HQ to regional offices and I'm betting he has other ideas to find out which G-Men actually want to investigate crime or be the enforcement arm of leftest political commissar.
Exactly this. Musk sent out a blanket email to all federal employees. Pajeet has said "this is my team, I'll sort them out". There's no power struggle and he's taking a burden from Musk.

If Patel makes a balls of it, he will be shoved aside and Musk will continue on.

So…Elon didn’t send the e-mail or the department heads aren’t telling people to ignore Elon? What? Confused
More like the story is reading more into what's going on than there is. Kash knows how to un-fuck the agency much better than Elon due to his experience with them. Until Elon starts sperging about it (which he would if it were truly a problem as he can't keep his mouth shut about anythying), I'm not taking these article seriously.

I'm going with the occam's razer that Trump and Elon knew Kash was going to do this because he already has a plan Trump approves of to set the agency straight again or burn it down if it refuses to reform, and this article is just a continuation of the media's idiotic attempts to destabilize the administration by trying to foment unrest between everyone via jealousy. The fact that their motives are so blatant and transparent means it won't work.
