So earlier I was fooling around on Google trying to find an Anarcho-Primitivist dating site and saw this thread

I've been looking for a while, but I can't really find any. I've already decided that I'd rather be single than be with someone who doesn't feel the way I do about primitivism, rewilding, and the problems inherent to civilization. I tried dating someone once who was not open to the idea, and it turned into a big source of conflict pretty quickly. That rules out more conventional methods of finding people.

The closest I've been able to find was a green dating site, but only a few women there had even considered rewilding themselves, and none of them were near my age range.

Google is proving to be very unhelpful, in this case.

Dating is futile it seems; the first and last time I mentioned it to a girl I was dating, she was disturbed and scared by the concept. When subsequent conversations left her less and less receptive to the idea, even hostile, I soon broke up with her. It's not hard to observe that primitivist groups have an uneven male to female ratio, which I attribute to the fact that civilization has imposed much stricter and more domestic standards on women.

I wondered as to why a woman would be scared of his "rewilding" and I thought this as I continued reading http://discuss.rewild.com and I realized what it means. Rewilding means literally devolving and literally becoming a shit throwing ape as opposed to living what we would consider living like a human.

There is also talk about creating feral children. As in children not taught anything and living on their own and naked.

I believe that people who are re-wilding in as uncivilized a community setting as possible have the power to raise feral children who will inherit the future, a future we work to bring about for them and then with them.

Children who are mothered/fathered/community-ed in a wild, natural, etc. way may just be the only hope of a future for humans and many other species.

In fairness there are "some" legitimate theories here which have likely been twisted to ridiculous and insane extremes, a la the Unabomber.

For one, evolution as in the Darwinian concept doesn't have anything to do with "civilization" or modernization, it simply refers to members of a species ability to adapt to their environment and go on to reproduce.

And human biology is for the most part more or less the same as it was with our hunter-gatherer ancestors, so technically we're "bred" to live like communal hunter-gatherers, and modern civilization is an adaptation.

Therefore there are some social and other problems which could be the result of over-dependence on modern technologies or inventions; similar to how taking wild animals like lions which are biologically wired to live in the wild, and making them live in zoos can sometimes have negative effects. The obesity epidemic in America which is the result of people shunning exercise for transportation, and eating ridiculous amounts of sugar and processed foods is a good example.

However I don't think the solution to any of this is to completely shun modern civilization and go back to living like a caveman; plus humans and other animals have had to adapt to changing environments for most of history.

Seriously though. A significant factor in human evolution has been the transition from hunter-gatherers to a more sedentary lifestyle where cities larger than one John Goodman can thrive. It is an outcome of humans evolving to rely on intelligent as much as, if not more than, physical strength. We aren't exactly the top species when it comes to certain attributes. Plenty of things are stronger, faster, and have certain senses sharper than ours and would rip us a new one if we blindly walk into a fight.

What we have to our advantage is we are, collectively at least, intelligent. We are clearly capable of overcoming our shortcomings with various tools, to such a degree that we can alter the very land around us and give ourselves pretty much anything to compensate. Without modern amenities, you can bet life expectancy would drop like an anvil.

Is sharing really beneficial to humanity in the long run? In some cultures it has even gone to extremes. A Yanomamo hunter may not even eat the meat of an animal he killed! What chimp would do that? Rather, sharing, morphed into trade, made civilization possible.

What's wrong with the "savage" savage? Why are civilized people so determined not to recognize themselves as the animals they are and return to a TRULY wild and free state? Even in this forum, one of the best I have found, I see over and over feral "villages" "tribes" and "peace." Am I the only human left who believes we should truly go WILD in the animal sense, to be who we were when we roamed the savannahs with our familes?
