Unless I've missed something critical, I think Alex is realizing this guy's just a lonely retard and not much of a real predator.

No, he was planning on showing up and raping a 15 year old girl, he's 100% a predator. It's just that the state or county they're in doesn't accept chatlogs as evidence, so Alex and JiDion have been trying to get him to confess to possession of CSAM, which he's reluctant to do.

And now the cops have arrived, so we'll see what happens.

Maybe I'm just missing the vocabulary to explain what I meant. His intentions are arrest worthy either way, lonely or not don't talk to children this way.
