It's theorised that the uptick in trans rights, trans awareness and trans surgery is because the Dr's who performed this surgery on the hollywood whores, trained out others or opened their practice to the slightly-less-rich, then to anyone who wanted it. We saw this exact same method happen in the 90s with cosmetic surgery; the more popular nip/tucks and face lifts became, the more standard the procedure and voila, a mass market of plastic surgeons making billions.
