I still say the sun is in the wrong damn place.

I've lived for many decades now, in the same general area of the world, and I know what the sun is supposed to be doing.
It's acting weird lately and I do not like it.

The oddity of the abbreviation "Nazi" is that usually and in your other examples, abbreviations involve the first one or two letters of each each word. The "zi" syllable is just in the middle of the word, it doesn't really abbreviate it in the classic sense. Should have been "Naso" or "Natso" by the classic logic instead.
What I think happened is that "Sozi" was a common (and somewhat derogative, the ending on i is commonly associated with diminuitives) shorthand for Sozialist/Socialist, so abbreviating Nationalsozialist with Nazi was not a big leap.
