I don't know if the original person who came up with the idea of The Shape Store intended for it to be a parody of the ridiculous nigga moment elements of black/hood/street culture, and I don't really care. What I enjoy the most is the silliness of the videos. It's wholesome in a way. Along with being a surreal nostalgic fever dream of what 30+ year-old uncs like myself kinda remember the mid/late 2000s feeling like, appropriately through the lens of a fisheye low resolution digital camera. In other words: it's pristine theatrics.

It kinda reminds me of some music videos from the 90s as well, with all the colors and nonsense happening. It's way more nostalgic than vaporwave for those who lived the 90s/early 2000s.

To me, it’s an obvious satire of the urban negro’s conspicuous consumerism and obsession with brand names. And hypebeast culture in general. Having them line up around the block for limited shape drops and having cartoonish squabbles over brightly colored plastic shapes isn’t as far from reality as you might think.

Indeed, the theatrics are pristine.

Oof, yea, that's a good way to explain it lol.
To those unlucky enough to have grown up around large populations of niggers, this is uncanny.

I remember this behavior specifically.
It was always confusing that niggers would line up around the block for shoe releases, yet they'd also always be selling the shoes to other niggers.

Is bread substituted for cheese ?
Is it weird that I think it would be fun to eat a burger with cheese as the buns at least once in my life?
You could torch the sides of the two cheese "buns" that will be inside the sandwich. Sounds awesome if the cheese is good quality. A redneck raclette of sorts.
Absolute caloric bomb though.

Is that different to Apple soyboys waiting in line for the next iPhone to release?

Behold, Yacube.

Wow turns out the Shape Store was a bubble. It had the fastest rise and fall of a meme I’ve ever seen. I guess meme lifespans have been getting shorter for a while now.

The way it went as quickly and mysteriously as it came just makes it even more of a fever dream.

Flavor of the month, really. Some of my peers considered using 'shape store' within their personal lexicon to simply refer to any kind of hangout associated with blacks, though it probably won't last either.

Surprising lack of seething too from what I saw. I'm just going to assume it's because all the anti ai faggots that spam that type of seething everywhere were too scared of being called racist considering this is about the only positive portrayal of black people in any meme. Just look at the fruit love island shit, loads of people calling that evil planet destroying and all that. But shapes? Nah they're fine.

One of the better memes that has come out in recent memory and the kind of thing that AI videos should be for.

And as goofy as it is, the actual Shape Store in the videos looks a lot more exciting than the milquetoast stores you find in strip malls across the country.

I want explosive carnival games and rocket-launching bumper cars in real life :(
