Good point. So they just really wanted be high schoolers and probably date virtual high schoolers and stuff.
 
I installed Sims4 again and of course it is bugged up as shit. But seriously the models are generating some horrifying shit.

Reminds me of the time almost a decade ago when Null was streaming Sims 3, and after Shrek got hit by a meteorite and died one of the Sims started glitching like a motherfucker and Null had to save and restart. The visual glitches were fixed, but an odd-eyed kitten named Mr. Pickles was now part of the family. Good times, good times.

I decided to install The Sims 3 again, with most of the DLCs. I'd forgotten how fun it was, the difference with The Sims 4 is abysmal.
The first sim I made was a homeless woman who went around town stealing stuff from her friends' houses (with the kleptomaniac trait). She lived in the firefighters building for free basically. With the money she earned from selling stolen stuff, I built a small house for her. Amazing.

Sims 3 really is the peak of the franchise. I wish Sims 4 would have gone in a similar direction to Sims 3 but with more stability.

I just want EA to release the memory leak fix for Sims 3 Windows like they did for the Mac version
 
Those weird Sims 3 glitches were caused because some CC would have invalid values and TS3 engine is such a mess those invalid values would cause the game to break. What's even worse, a single broken piece of CC would cause every other piece of CC to also get corrupted, and then that CC would spread further with community creations. These two videos describe the issue nicely, worth a watch if you like stuff like this.

Fortunately, JM Pescado included support for an FPS limiter for the game, with 3booter, to prevent this from happening.

Going back to TS4, more info about the High School EP, and the included base game update, has been revealed:

The Sims 4 team did a livestream of the EP:


-Customizable sexual orientation, curved walls, and Wants and Fears, will be Base Game additions. The sexual orientation feature doesn't include support for custom pronouns, due to "technical limitations", but the devs said that it maybe implemented in the future. It also cannot be switched off at all, and here's their reasoning for it:

No. While we try to give players the option to toggle certain gameplay features, LGBTQIA+ identities are a fact of life and not a toggle to be switched on and off.

I'm not sure how this will work, where that is not as strongly supported, although I think most of those places don't have access to TS4 anyways, since EA stopped selling TS4 in Russia due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the game was either banned or not sold at all in China, and I think it's the same for Middle East countries and Muslim ones (or either restricted) in general.

And given how the TS4 team swept Whims under the rug, I don't think the Wants and Fears will be done right this time, compared to in TS2, and even the Wishes in TS3 were implemented much better.

-Sims can now fail High School.

-Some more death types will be added in the EP.
