A lot of people who make custom content, seem to love hiding the links behind adfly, a re-director that has a lot of links to malicious sites, and while it might not be as big of a problem in the simblr community, it's still a big problem on other blogging sites.
Many of the people who use adfly, also put another re-director on top of that redirect, so they can get as much money as possible, and don't seem to care that the adfly links can damage someone's computer. (Though, only an idiot would click on an adfly link (at least without the extension to skip over it) but it's still a scummy thing to do.)

And even before adfly you had websites/creators like Newsea and Peggy having another kind of subscription wall to download their stuff. It’s why back in the day we had stuff like thebooty or whatever it was called.
It’s weird that creators acknowledge that adfly has viruses and will put up an alternate link instead of doing both that and using a different website.

I'm going to preface this by saying I like the idea of fucking dogs have been a huge fan of The Sims for years now and love me some mods. However the modding community is indeed a flaming dumpster fire. I'm all for mods that make the game "more realistic" (ie teen pregnancy, sex animations, etc) but there are some people who have made/want people to make mods that allow you to have sex with toddlers. Hell, I've seen a mod that allows female Sims to have sex with a dog and get pregnant with puppies.

There's also a ton of drama and content theft. Someone earlier linked to Billy Rand (the dude who made Inteen and spilled the beans about Mod The Sims' owner being a pedo.) He probably got the worst of this kind of treatment. Long story short, he made mods that allowed for stuff like teens marrying each other and getting pregnant, abortions, miscarriages, etc. Other people in the modding community ripped off and, in many cases, straight up stole his mods and passed them off as their own, all while giving Billy shit for making such "controversial" and "sick" mods.
