This shit is why I stick to Sim City.

You can't really be overly perverted with buildings and shit (even if you put forward strip clubs you can legit claim they're a part of real cities)

Look at this pleb, I bet he didn't even install the SinCity mod and build a "sex-slave driven (!) power plant which is environmentally friendly but spreads diseases"

Interesting tidbit. The latest Stuff Pack The Sims 4 put out had a bunch of wicker baskets in it as a decor item, well they named it "Wicker Whims" so it seems EA/Maxis knows about the humping mod and likes it.

The relationship between EA and the modding and fan "community" is... fucking weird. The Sims is like... the Steven Universe or Supernatural of game development, I swear.

Where's the fan-made Social Justice Expansion Pack that lets my sims explore new career paths such as "/pol/ shitposter", "patreon beggar", and "video games journalist"?

So, they actually did an update on 4 that lets you make trans-Sims. Like, you can say who pees standing, who gets pregnant, who gets "feminine" and "masculine" clothes, regardless of if you pick a man or woman sim body. They've also been on the gay train since waaaaay back.

I think Vanilla Sims 3 lets you be a Blogger in the Journalist Career path.

Some expansions add Social Media as a skill...I am not even joking.

And if you have Evil or Inappropriate as a trait, you can troll internet forums and get positive moodlets if people angrily respond.

I used to feel guilty for destroying the towns I built in the old games because sad music would play afterwords.

The Sims 2 is still the best sims out there, also for mods. They have tons, and you can just goof off and have fun. Those newer Sims are slow and bloatware, even on uberfast PC's.

I used to play The Sims a lot up until like a year ago and the fourth game is actually fine as far as loading times and stuff is concerned. It's not that slow.

Sims 3 is fucking awful though, that game sometimes took 20+ minutes to load if you had even only a few mods installed on it. Terrible.

It's a shame. Sims 3 is the best in terms of features, but good lord, the optimization is horrible and EA's coding is a disaster. I remember the Houseboat expansion was listed as "Do not install" in 4chan's install guide because it often would cause even the best computers to shit themselves and die if your town dared to have a significant body of water in it.

From the creator of the autism mod here comes the DID mod

There is also an adhd mod not made by the same person though

Most of these mods are supremely autistic in nature, but I have to say that some of them just leave me impressed.

The Sims would actually be a lot more interesting if it had such levels of detail built in. Even with the more exotic stuff like illegal relationships, it'd be interesting to use it not as a virtual dollhouse, but more true to its name and being an actual "simulator" of sorts.

:powerlevel:The drug mod isn't too bad, I wouldn't pay for it but I'm cheap as hell. I know on loverslab the really autistic side is the requests side since you get people wanting vore and other shit like that.

It was always really weird because of the fact that people would charge for content and EA would always cheekily make nods or mentions to the well-known mods like the Whicker Whims item from the new pack. People would even directly ask EA employees and never get a straight answer about the paid content but it just got weirder? I was checking that SimSecret place and apparently EA finally came out and said that modding is illegal and people can't charge for it - they're losing their shit. It's so petty from every angle.

I am really curious as to why EA/Maxis let this go on for as long as it did. People were talking about it earlier but there are some making at least 3-5k a month for content made for their game. You'd think such a money hungry company would've shut them down forever ago.

You'd think, but then they'd have to finish the fucking game before they released them, and really they were flat out relying on CC for Sims 4 to be worth a shit at all. That was reeeeally obvious. It's probably cheaper to let CC fill out a half-assed release, than do it themselves.

I honestly hadn't even thought about that, but you're not wrong at all. I was even saying to myself "Why wouldn't they say this sooner and just hire the popular ones?" but now you've made a lot of sense of the situation for me. The weird thing is too I feel like EA most likely won't even do anything if people continue to charge for it? They let it slide for so long it seems like something to just shut everyone up since a lot of cc creators are offering patreon exclusive mods these days it really upsets people for some reason and the forums have been flooded with complaints instead of actual things to discuss about their game.
