The Sims Modding Community - "[Sims 4] Incest, Teen Romance, Babies For Everyone and more! UPDATED FOR 1.5.149.1020!"

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Man, ten pages and still no mention of The Mare's Nest? That place is astonishing. The same dude commentating for eight fucking years about the Sims Community. I'd argue the dude's a cow himself, but the screenshots do make a nice archive.

This is his most memorable post tbh
I believe that blog is run by two people. Still doesn't make them any less pathetic. At least with Sim Secret the comments section is open so you can defend yourself if you're being shit talked. TMN doesn't have a comments section.

There used to be a mod for The Sims 2 which allowed you to murder other Sims with a gun.

Guns would be a new thing for the Sims 2 being modded in.

With Universities, it is actually possible to murder other Sims using a plant you can buy if you're a Botanist. The plant baits Sims with cake and then eats them live a la Little Shop of Horrors. You can then milk (yes, with udders and all) the plant for their skill points.

This is a real thing and not a mod.

For those who don’t know, the administrator of Mod the Sims, Stuart Standfield aka Delphy, was busted for possessing
child porn because his wife(!) outed him.

Kudos to Mare’s Nest for having the pic.

Nice, I'm sure there is more numerous juicy rabbit holes in this community to uncover.

Yep, as a longtime Simmer can confirm this fandom is nutty in all it’s corners, not just the modders.

The legacy and storytellers’ forum in particular is a huge circlejerk, since constructive criticism = cyberbullying(!) in that area, there’s been a few chimpouts already. Basically a bunch of Stephenie Meyers in training

Edit: typos

Ah the story part of the community, I remember on The Sims Resource that the mods were extremely stingy about what and what could not be published. I wonder if they got fed up with this and changed the program they used to discourage people from submitting.

Iirc they did - and then a lot of people moved over to Tumblr to do their stories and it’s just as bad as it used to be. That Simblr tag is exhausting. There’s also a Sims Story reddit if I’m remembering correctly

The official EA forums are surprisingly lenient when it comes to story content. As long as you mark your content as NSFW and link it to your offsite blog, the mods won’t hassle you.

I remember a self-harm on MTS2 which got pulled rather quickly. I never saw it again and sometimes I wonder if it was just a weird fever dream on my part.
And of course, suicide mods, drug mods, murder mods and all that weird lewd shit. The Sims 2 community was a wild bunch.

During the Sims 2's lifespan, there was a website that had mods (I think it was Mod The Sims but I could be wrong) for the game which were behind a paywall for some reason. Obviously this annoyed people, but somebody created a mock website inspired by Pirate Bay's design which had all the paid mods for free to download. There was a huge backlash by the modding community, more specifically just the people demanding money for their mods.

Unfortunately I don't know if any of the posts complaining about this are still hidden around somewhere.

PaysitesMustBeDestroyed? The drama around the was really funny.

Yeah! That's it! Do you know if there's any posts about that laying around?

A Classic

Usually Autotune, even when it was hype in the 2000s and when used to make fun of people was never done well. This is probably the only legitimately funny example of it being used I've seen.

Anyway it inspired me to search for sims ghetto mods where I found some woman who makes "melanin packs":

Oh this reminds me of another sims community, black simblr. The woke queens who make poorly photoskinned CC that will crash your game, police what hairstyles you put on your sims and complain about representation in other people’s stories. This person is almost the best summary of what they’re like.
