The Sims Modding Community - "[Sims 4] Incest, Teen Romance, Babies For Everyone and more! UPDATED FOR 1.5.149.1020!"

Not to mention that most of EA's attempts at making an online Sims game have ended in failure. The Sims Online and The Sims Social come to mind.
TSO was actually somewhat popular, but by the six year mark EA figured it would make financial sense to discontinue it since who's really buying new copies of a six year old game? TSS (and TSF) were both travesties and deserved their fate though.

EA also made a huge bumble with TSO that ultimately killed the game. The update where the game became EA Land they severely limited the amount of lots players could buy. Lots became scarce and the main part of the game was buying multiple lots to make skill houses for other players to level their skills. Another change after the game became EA Land, was to wipe everyone's data. Players had to start from scratch. You could also buy in game currency for real money. Buying in game currency for cash isn't an unique idea, but usually it's limited to cash shop currency that doesn't affect the game's economy. The former and latter will kill any online game.

Even before that TSO was running on a skeleton crew and basically neglected. A month after this update went live EA completely dismantled the game's team and the game was shut down.

I always liked multilayer sims when the games were on Playstation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube. I would build a box around my sister and kill her sim, good fun.

Dog fucking mod is a cow crossover with ATF, whose "robots.txt" disallows archiving.

this isnt really a sims modding issue but it's more related to stuff to come in the future game, possibly, maybe, idk. the sims team is currently thinking about adding disabled people to the game. i, personally, would be fine with this, if they were to add it to the game, but i would like to know what you'd think of it

I don't mind. I know alot of people in this thread find the mental illness traits retarded and I partially do myself, but I somewhat understand the logic behind installing them even if I wouldn't do so myself.

I find it kinda funny that I can choose to cripple my sims and unlock intense cripple gameplay in my god sim game.

I really just want more personality traits, trait slots and a supernatural pack.

Adding disabilities to The Sims would be good idea on paper. It adds extra challenge for people who want it and lets people who want to make themselves in the Sims finally be able to do so accurately. On the other hand, adding wheelchairs is going to take a lot of work. it won't be as simple as adding a new object. They'll need new animations for doing almost everything. Every animation that an able-bodied sim does while standing will need to be remade for the wheelchair sim, and many animations for the able bodied sim will need to be added for when they interact with the wheelchair sim. New objects like wheelchair ramps and extra wide doors will need to be added and existing buildings will need to be modified and wheelchair accessible vehicles will need to be added. All that just for one type of disability, and they'll probably want to add other types too, like blindness which will need it's own animations. It'll have to be an expansion pack sized update. If the devs think they can do it all then I say more power to them, but it won't be easy, cheap, or quick.

The types of houses you'll be able to build for a wheelchair using sim would also be limited. You couldn't have a multi story house unless they add those power lifts people have for stairs. They would have to make several new items in most categories. New walk in tub, rails in the bathroom, a pully system to get your sim in the bed, etc. Your sim would not be able to use most items as well unless they go back and make new animations.

Depending on how disabled they choose to make the sim, they can't independently. Your sim will have to hire a home aid or nurse. People who cannot walk irl find ways to live as independently as they can, but the sims team would have to walk on egg shells to avoid offending anybody. How will they portray a blind sim, or a deaf sim without pissing people? Like it would be unfair to not be able to play them without buying the cats and dogs expansion because they will need a service dog.

It's a nightmare to add disable sims, frankly. It's a nice idea but just not practical.

How many disables will they add? Wheelchair/cane user, deaf, and blind are a no brainers but there are so many conditions that disable people. Will they make traits for many different conditions? Will these traits take up a trait slots or will it be a free one? It will be frustrating to have many days where you want to progress your sim but they have a symptomatic day as people irl do have. It will also piss off people if their sim never experiences hard days as they do with their condition.

In other news, the Sim Gurus are having a problem with being called "daddy" by fans, prompting an official message from the community manager: http://archive.is/8axvY

I'm honestly surprised, EA seems like they'd be more for memeing and appealing to Tumblrtards. This thread makes me wanna replay Sims 4, I miss the open world aspect, but the game runs way better on modern PCs than Sims 1-3 do.

also not modding news, but a new expansion where you become a celebrity is coming soon, and it looks better than the mod someone made for becoming a celebrity by using instagram or something. idk i dont use it i only watched the video

There was a Sims 1 expansion pack like that, you could even meet celebrities like Avril Lavigne, Andy Warhol and Marilyn Monroe (among a few others). I asked my mate about what he thought about it and he's pretty bummed, he want's more supernatural/occult sims like werewolves.

Superstar was iconic, Studio Town had this real cool old-school Hollywood aesthetic.

You need a certain star rating to talk to celebs, but if you sat at a table you automatically spoke with them. I held Avril Lavigne hostage at the dinner table til she wanted to marry me.

Good times.
