There's a new update incoming with flags meant for only the most exceptional portion of simmers. Simmers are angry, not because of all the troon swatches they will likely never use, but because there is no lesbian flag (likely because every time there has to be a "new" flag, someone has to find something exclusionist about it).

With the review embargo for the Island Living EP for TS4 lifted, some details about it are out. Here are two infodumps:

In typical EA fashion, most of those details are lowlights. Those include:

-A "Clothing Optional" lot trait.

-It appears that you can't fight sharks in the game like in TS3 Island Paradise, and being around them makes you "Tense". Also, sharks kill you by drowning you, compared to how Death by Sharks in Island Paradise was it's own death type.

-When a volcano erupts, the lava bombs won't directly kill you like the meteors in TS3, and the falling satellite in TS2, but instead may just ignite your Sim.

-Sea Turtles are only decorative, and can't be interacted with.

-Vampires can't get sunburned, and it appears that Aliens in their non-disguise form can't get sunburned either.

-It took EA almost 5 years to add a trait randomizer. I think TS3 allowed you to randomize traits from the base game.

Yep, it's probably gonna be the usual TS4 disappointment, in typical EA fashion.

Also, the release for the Legacy Version of TS4 for 32-bit users has been delayed, and Island Living will run on 32-bit computers.

With the release of Island Living this week, with it now available in certain regions, it's showing the usual levels of EA fail. More lowlights include the following:

-You can't sit by the pier, which would have presumably been a thing given that Sims in TS4 can sit by the pool.

-Jumping from the pier requires buying a pier ladder to allow for the interaction. You can't jump off of the pier directly otherwise.

-Beach supplies, i.e. the jetskis, can be bought from a VENDING MACHINE, out of all things.

-It has been confirmed that there is a troon pre-made Sim in the new world in Island Living.

-SimGurus, in usual fashion, REALLY like to make a big deal out of set dressing in the game in usual fashion.

EA did add a Lesbian flag to the game when it was patched this week. Apparently, the reason why there wasn't going to be one originally was because our "favorite" SimGuru Grant Rodiek "didn't know" that a Lesbian flag existed.

I exterminate the local population immediately upon installation for reasons like this. I don't like having these genetic fuck-ups thrown into the game. I wish I'd stopped long enough to look at it this time, though.

These people ruin everything you can't be creative or tell a story without pissing off some ass hurt faggot.
Also I think the person has a fat girl fetish and I wouldn't be surprised if they were a feeder the way their sims look like hot air balloons.
The only thing I agree with them on is credit the cc creators content you use in the video.

So there's apparently a rehash of old drama going on in the simblr community lately.

First one revolves around black simmers being upset that someone who is mostly popular for their ethic/black hair sims 3 cc has locked some of their content temporarily behind a donation wall because 1) they're not black themselves, so they're profiting off poc and 2) apparently it's hard to find 'decent' ethic things in the community so no one should ever put them behind a pay wall. Here's a comment thread about it on the latest simsecret post. Also I think the content creator in question has been accused of copying other people's patreon only cc and making their own free to use versions in the past, though I might be confusing them for another user with a similar name.

Second is that people are (once again) pushing back against content creators who hide their downloads behind adfly links and other url shorteners. This in part because several of the people who are using the service are part of EA's game changer program, which prohibits using adwalls and paywalls in the program rules apparently and because some people are reporting that malware is starting to auto download on those sites even with an adblocker installed (because they apparently don't know you can just find the redirect in the source code itself or just install an extension that skips the site entirely). Recently a former SimGuru, Kate, commented on the situation. Several users in the community have also made posts ( for example ) and blogs ( like this one where someone is uploading cc that's otherwise 'stuck' behind adwalls until the content creator takes the adfly links down ) about it as well.

Apparently, the big announcement from EA this month regarding The Sims 4 is they will be changing the TS4 logo a bit, as well as changing the looks of the main menu, the loading screens, and the Expansion Pack game covers:

Seems like a lot of unnecessary changes there. And the blue background on the loading screen with the redesigned plumbob in the middle is just painful to look at.

Also to be added is a "CAS Story Mode", in which you can answer a "Personality Quiz" to randomly assign Aspiration, Traits, and starting money, for your Sim in CAS. That in itself is also an odd addition, as that type of thing would be more for RPGs than life simulation games. Thankfully, it is optional.
