The thing that irks me about the skeptic 'community' is how up themselves they are. They're elitists who claim to be skeptics but act as a hive mind and rip apart anyone who goes away from the groupthink(eg. edgysphinx or harmful opinions).
They use the term skeptic as some sort of 'badge of honor' that instantly validates all of their opinions and invalidates their opponents.

Black pigeon was the corporate world's first dabble in this market and it worked. Channels like his with high production quality and value will come to dominate.

it's genuinely so cringe, purely because they call out a bunch of people like Milo Stewart, Ash Hardell, etc for trying to brainwash people into believing as they do. But the skeptic community does exactly the same.
I agree that brainwashing from both sides is wrong.
Trying to push thoughts on people who may just be expressing their opinions, and may not even want everyone to conform to their standards is also a little cringey.

Then again I don't believe in thought policing. If you're going to go and tell someone their thoughts on something that is, shockingly, their opinion, is wrong, because of your own personal standards, you sound like some sort of autist and straight up I'm gonna ask who hurt you. I hate to be that guy, but in reality, nobody really has the right to tell another person that their way of thinking is the only "correct" way to think.

Not at all really.
I'm not the biggest fan of Neopronouns, but honestly when The Amazing Atheist was ripping on "they/them" pronouns, he didn't come off as funny, he just sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about.
"this is /they/ isaac" "how can you substitute 'they' for 'his'?". I didn't know if he was trying to joke or if he was genuinely that stupid. "this is his razor" "this is /they/ razor"

Honestly, zero fux given if someone wants me to substitute "his" or "hers" for "theirs". That person's life, what the hell ever.

Seriously I get that some people want to push that "singular they isn't correct" thing (which I won't argue with anyone as it will derail this topic) but that part of the video just went above and beyond the territory of "i want to sound like a tard"

Like if it was a joke it didn't sound like "clever" humor. It came across as he didn't research how English works before making the joke.
Especially since later on like 5 seconds after he made the joke, he showed an image of neopronouns, which included "they/them" pronouns... His joke was just unfunny for the reasons specified.
Y'know, take a jab at as many genderspecials as you like, but at least try to sound intelligent while doing it. It'll literally fuel the fire if you sound like you have no knowledge of what you're arguing about.

Actually follow a bunch of people in the 'Skeptic' community like the aforementioned Armoured Skeptic and his gf Shoe0nHead as well as Logicked. Not gonna deny the hate for any of them; Armoured Skeptic himself was an ass and he even admitted in a video when his own clique got sick of him trumpeting his ego around.

I think the biggest issue that turned Skeptics from a mildly credible group (being very generous there) to another circlejerk is when a lot of them went from shitting on extremist Christian views like Young Earth Creationism to gender and social views, all that SJW bullcrap. Wherever your beliefs may lie, stuff like incredibly radical religious views can often be debunked with science and done rather amusingly, but SJW views fall more under the matter of opinion and as such the type of credibility you could at least hold with scientific evidence gets flushed riiight down the fucking toilet.

That and arguing with SJWs descends into an incredibly boring and petty slapfight.

The only one of the skeptic community I follow with any regularity is logicked because his content appeals to my interest in religion. I used to follow Armored Skeptic when his videos were about creationism and other mumbo jumbo, but the shift to social issues and SJW malarkey was unwelcome. If he was sincere in his video where he owned up to not knowing absolutely everything about absolutely everything and goes back to religious topics, I'll be happy to follow him again.

My only experience with Sargon of Akkad was when Francesca Ramsey was a hot topic and the discussion with Undoomed. For the most part, I would be content to label the community a pack of drama cows and leave it at that, but the only exceptions on my list are Chris Ray Gun and Logicked since they don't have a myopic focus on one or two little things.
