Roth is concentrating on knocking out Etsy jewellery. Zvan claims to be a writer, but no work in evidence outside of twitter.

Benson is still doing her copy/paste/grumble blog and e-begging for a few hundred bucks a month. Not entertaining, her thread here is long dead.

McCreight trooned out, grew some scraggly pubes on her chin, and is having her tits lopped off.

Someone invited me here from the tranny thread. There's really not a whole lot to say. Intellectual movements attract narcissists and weirdos. It was popular and hypocritical people capitalized on the popularity. Now post modernism/relativism is back in style and the mode of thought espoused by the modern skeptic movement is unpopular because it's inherently invalidating and usually opposed.

As far as the online skeptic scene being dead - who cares. The reason it's dead is because the core of skepticism didn't lend itself to being subverted into other social movements. When people realized they were going to lose views, clicks, and followers they abandoned it. The people who didn't fell into obscurity. That doesn't deprive it of it's utility.


I'm also a "maker", though I wouldn't use that label. It took a *lot* of effort to resist politicization at our local space/collective. You don't hear much about makers and making anymore, but we're the largest we've ever been because making things in the company of others has a lot of utility independent of a movement you get social capital for being a part of.

She was on Skeptics Guide to the Universe for years and she thinks Skepticism and the scientific method is about starting with the conclusion, ignoring evidence that gets in the way, then forming a hypothesis.

It's good she's off that podcast. I fizzled out listening as often as I did during covid and Trump times. I was just sick of hearing about that shit everywhere. I like Cara on it, Rebecca's replacement. I am listening more regularly again.

One thing which is annoying, is every now and then Cara mentions some progressive woke ideology bullshit which gets hit with basically no response by the guys. She makes her point. Then they move on. There definitely is a big issue where they don't know how to address a lot of the current era non-sense and so just ignore it.

When really, a lot of the crazy progressive shit going on with the left should be a gold mine for the skeptic community. Yet they see it as their side, and no one in America can admit their side is retarted.

Skeptics with a K, scathing atheist, Skeptics in the pub, and more . Trump ruined most of them and covid finished off the rest. Even the Skeptics Guide who were more reasonable went full retard on covid.

Now Sam Harris (who I never really liked) is self destructing. Sad.

I feel you Skeptic bro. I still listen to Sam Harris occasionally as he covers a lot of interesting subjects and he tends to only occasionally engage his Trump derangement syndrome. Nearly every other podcast will blankly tell you twenty times an episode that men really can become women though and other such cuckoldary.

If any knows any skeptic podcasts that aren’t hosted by people trying to impress their wife’s boyfriend let me know.
