I'm really not surprised, sometimes it just doesn't feel like it's a 'go day' and especially on a new pad and new version of the whole rocket. I wouldn't be too surprised if it takes a few more attempts to lift off over the next week or so, but never know.

ETA @mingo mongo saw you said tomorrow. Like I said, could be another scrub then, but just a day means it must've been something pretty borderline with the water pressure.

The livestream did say that this was essentially a successful WDR, so I’m still hopeful.

I retract my previous post. Weather has been really good in the evening everyday for the week.

Odds on them actually launching tomorrow vs next week?

If they've done it once they'll have done it for all of them (that were staged). To over-explain: it takes a second or three for the tubopumps (ie most of an engine) to spin/heat up and hit full thrust. And if you're not at full thrust, or at least above what the booster stage was just putting out, you get fuel ullage. Most propellants but cryofuels especially always have a gas bubble because liquid oxygen/hydrogen/methane/lawnmower fuel/whatever don't really want to be liquid. It's like tapping the breaks all of a sudden mid-staging, so the gas bubble flies to the bottom where you're trying to pump it from and the engines stall.

So virtually everything hotstages and always has. The main exceptions are ancient pressure-fed designs but those are shitty and need heavier tanks. In microgravity you have the same issue (at best, bubbles in random places) but you only need a tiny amount of inertia so that's resolved by tapping RCS thrusters or dedicated ullage thrusters for a sec. Or especially in the past, little mini solid rockets.
And you can do similar shit during ascent too but it's way less common (the Falcon 9 does it though), I think it depends on your ascent profile, like if you actually need to coast for a while you might take the opportunity to not damage the paint job, but burning all the way up is more efficient.

Might sound scarier with SpaceX rockets because they reserve some propellant in the tanks for soft descents, but remember that's the same super-cooled propellant you use to constantly cool the engines that are putting out the exact same face-blasting fire. Actually, less, because the booster stages blast way the fuck more face than upper ones as a rule. And it's only for a second (or 1.1 seconds for the vacuum raptors apparently). So it's fine. Totally conventional.

I stopped watching NSF. I just watch the SpaceX stream directly. I couldn't stand the nasally, autistic, beta male voices and dweeby laughs. As an added bonus, Kate Tice is cute.

I've always watched Tm Dodd since the start. Those NSF guys do sound incredibly soy and I can't stand it for long.

It's honestly something about how its produced. He started in an old Cosmonaut suit which was yikes, it was apparently a really gross suit on his end. And I am not a fan of how he produces stuff, or his own music.

It's really the entire spacetube stuff that's geared around rimming Musk and Starship.

No Starship isn't everything you wanted it to be. It's so far looking to be a glorified starlink launch vehicle. Space data centres are looking really difficult where a lot of the developments need to be in space radiators because heat is actually a major concern. Remember, Musk wanted to be on Mars by now. First with Red Dragon and now Starship, which things are looking to "oh no, we need to focus on the Moon", despite the Moon having quite a few different difficulties to Mars.
