US "The Squad" Megathread - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Talib Derangement Syndrome

I honestly only know about American politics from what I read on the Internet but since we all love shitting on leftists I figured we'd get a kick out of this. Also it's trending on Twitter so you know it's important.

NEW YORK — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old political novice running on a low budget and an unabashedly liberal platform, upset longtime U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley on Tuesday in the Democratic congressional primary in New York.

The surprise victory by the community organizer in a district that includes parts of the Bronx and Queens came after an energetic, grassroots campaign that mustered more than enough support in a low-turnout race that many had expected to be an easy win for Crowley, a member of the Democratic House leadership.

“The community is ready for a movement of economic and social justice. That is what we tried to deliver,” said Ocasio-Cortez, who has never held elected office and whose candidacy attracted only modest media attention.

She told The Associated Press after her victory that she didn’t have enough money to do polling in the race, but felt in her gut that her message had a chance to connect.

“I live in this community. I organized in this community. I felt the absence of the incumbent. I knew he didn’t have a strong presence,” she said.

Crowley has been in Congress since 1999 and hadn’t faced an opponent in a primary election since 2004, when Ocasio-Cortez was just a teenager. He was considered a candidate to become the next House speaker if Democrats win the majority.

“It’s not about me,” Crowley, 56, told his supporters at a campaign party following his loss. “It’s about America. I want nothing but the best for Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. I want her to be victorious.”

He later played guitar with a band at the election night gathering, and dedicated the first song, Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run,” to Ocasio-Cortez.

Crowley represents New York’s 14th Congressional District, where he is also the leader of the Queens Democratic party.

Ocasio-Cortez was outspent by an 18-1 margin during her race but won the endorsement of some influential groups on the party’s far left, including MoveOn, as well as the actress Cynthia Nixon, who is running for governor. She defeated Crowley by 15 percentage points.

Born in the Bronx to a mother from Puerto Rico and a father who died in 2008, Ocasio-Cortez said she decided to challenge Crowley to push a more progressive stance on economic and other issues.

She attended Boston University, where she earned degrees in economics and international relations, and also spent time working in the office of the late U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy.

After graduating, she returned to the Bronx where she became a community organizer. In the 2016 presidential campaign she worked for U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Among her issues is expanding the Medicare program to people of all ages and abolishing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. She recently went to Tornillo, Texas, to protest against policies that have separated parents from their children at the southern U.S. border.

Ocasio-Cortez gained some internet attention for a campaign video called “The Courage to Change,” a two-minute spot for which she wrote the script and featured footage from her own home.

Crowley is chair of the House Democratic Caucus, the fourth-highest ranking position in Democratic leadership in that chamber of Congress.

His loss drew the attention of President Donald Trump.

“Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election. In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!” he tweeted.

The Republican candidate for the office, Anthony Pappas, is running unopposed and had no primary. Pappas teaches economics at St. John’s University.

She was a Bernie campaigner, is supported by BLM, and wants to abolish Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Also this was in a solid-blue Congressional District so you know she's a shoo-in for next Congress.

But hey, we did get to see Trump laugh at Crowley on Twitter.

Which is fine and all but then why did she go there? That's been their war cry for months.
Because she and the rest of the DNC all know their angry rants are bullshit. Nigga just wants to party in Miami and doesn't really believe in how big bad Florida is a evil Trump state or whatever.

She doesn't care about masks or covid for real. All that shit on the political platform is just an act.

I don't get why everyone on the right is dancing on her metaphorical grave. It's just going to give the far left more ammunition (albeit bullshit ammunition) to talk about how "bad" Florida and DeSantis are and how it was the "unvaccinated that gave it to her".
Because she's just really hateable in a way that breaks through politics.

It’s inevitable that people will take something that should be a minus for Democrats and make it a plus for Democrats/progressives. It’s just bound to happen if you look at the past 30 years of political history.

Look at how they called the states that voted for Trump “Dumbfuckistan” just for them to migrate to said “Dumbfuckistan” throughout the pandemic.

AOC is basically the left’s version of Trump. She’s either a bimbo who, because she’s brown, female, and says the most progressive cryptic nonsense, she sways enough people by her side to keep power, or she’s actually smart and is saying this stuff for the same reason. It really doesn’t matter if she’s a smart hypocrite or a dumb hypocrite. Similar to how Eric Adams gets elected because of his “tough-on-crime” stance, just to do a bait-and-switch and put people that want to be more lenient on crime in positions of power. And no one cares.

And, how do you deal with that? Trying to convince people who are easily swayed like that? Who don’t have an ounce of skepticism towards their decisions?

I mean, look at this gem. I wish this was a parody account. I wish this was a parody account. But it isn’t.

Oh but it's already being denied by Twitter lemmings. "She was outside and according to CDC guidelines didn't need a mask". "Florida is just a super spreader state".
Twitter Lemmings will deny that the sky is blue if the CDC tells them so.
Because she's just really hateable in a way that breaks through politics.
This. What she did was enormously stupid, and then she did the Carlos Mencia offense of saying that anybody critiquing her just wanted to kiss her so bad. If there's one thing America loves, it's seeing an overconfident idiot suffer eating the shit they triumphantly prepared for themselves.

Ocasio-Cortez tests positive for breakthrough COVID-19 case

You hate to see it.
"Breakthrough" case. JFC even in illness these congressional tards have to pretend everything they do is special.

Twitter Lemmings will deny that the sky is blue if the CDC tells them so.
I'm still so angry Trump never told reporters "the sky is blue" at a press conference during his presidency. Watching the lügenpresse breathlessly explain to the world why the sky is in fact not blue just to avoid admitting Trump was right about something would have been legendary.

Don't look at me like that. You lads know they would have done it.

And yet her district will continue to vote for her while they suffer through homelessness, crime and unemployment.

And just like that… Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) returned to Twitter Tuesday after claiming she was done with the social media giant.

The “Squad” member ended her brief Twitter hiatus — which she said she was taking due to “negativity” on the platform — only to target West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, a fellow Democrat, over his opposition to President Biden’s “Build Back Better” bill.

The tweet came after Ocasio-Cortez announced that she was on a break from Twitter — in response to an Instagram user who pointed out that the congresswoman had not posted anything on either her personal or official page since Thursday.

“When will you come back to twitter?? You’re missed,” the user wrote AOC on the lawmaker’s Instagram Story.

“That’s so funny you bring that up,” Ocasio-Cortez replied. “Yeah, when I got COVID, I turned off all my devices, which means I wasn’t really on social media that much or anything like that.”

She then revealed that when she logged back on, Twitter would make her feel unwell.

“So I mean, literally, I would go to open the app and I almost felt like, anxious,” Ocasio-Cortez explained. “People kind of fight and gossip and all this other stuff so much, but — and there’s a lot of negative, negativity on there — but I’ll be back. Don’t worry.”

Posted this in the Social Justice Warriors thread, AOC said that Biden shouldn't just pick any black woman but one with the right philosophy/worldview/etc., she's getting mobbed for being anti-Black:

Twitter made her crash into slumber I can't believe it
The fact that she tried to use the poor dog as a prop for her social media craving is just proof that young millennial women with this kind of personality are dangerous to society and to other sane women.

AOC decided to temporarily quit Twitter.
Far-left “progressive” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez explained that she’d temporarily retired from using Twitter on Monday night, citing “negativity” on the app and stress she’s incurred as a result of using the platform.

The New York Democrat answered a follower in an Instagram Live story who asked her about her recent limited Twitter presence.

AOC had sparingly posted on Twitter during the month of January, going from Jan. 13 until Jan. 31 without posting an original tweet.

“That’s so funny that you bring that up,” the socialist said. “Yeah, when I got COVID I turned off all my devices, which means I wasn’t really on social media that much or anything like that.”

AOC explained negative comments on Twitter were giving her anxiety.

She has publicly discussed the state of her own mental health before, indicating that the events of the Jan. 6 incursion into the U.S. Capitol spurred her to begin seeing a therapist.

“So I mean, literally, I would go to open the app and I almost felt like, anxious. People like, kind of fight and gossip, and all this other stuff so much,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

More of AOC's retarded speech patterns. She has the speech cadence and phrasing of a particularly vapid millennial. Probably because that is exactly what she is.

AOC shouldn't started a fight with Ted Cruz, she should have stayed to bed instead, lol.

AOC starts Twitter war with Ted Cruz, loses badly

By Thomas Lifson

Out of the blue, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez launched a Twitter attack on Senator Ted Cruz. As you will see, the gist of the attack is that she thinks Senator Cruz can’t dance the way the cool kids do. The cool kids naturally include her, dancing in a Twitter video, with the person in the foreground of African American descent, and behind her AOC in one of her expensive designer outfits, moving rhythmically to music.

Perhaps this is supposed to be a dig at Cruz as an intellectual nerd, someone who was studying while the hip BIPOC crowd was out clubbing. Remember that after graduating from Boston University, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (at the time using the name Sandy Cortez) put her erudition to work as a bartender at a Manhattan club. Methinks Sandy, who loves to pontificate on practically any subject, has a slight inferiority complex to the Senator who was praised by one of his Harvard Law School professors as his most brilliant student, and who regularly dazzles with his intellect.

Replies from Cruz supporters picked up on her previous claim that her critics just want to date her and threw it back in her face:

This WTF article popped up in Google News. Not sure if it belongs here or the Australian Totalitarian Megathread. Why is Australia reporting on this?
