I honestly only know about American politics from what I read on the Internet but since we all love shitting on leftists I figured we'd get a kick out of this. Also it's trending on Twitter so you know it's important.

NEW YORK — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old political novice running on a low budget and an unabashedly liberal platform, upset longtime U.S. Rep. Joseph Crowley on Tuesday in the Democratic congressional primary in New York.

The surprise victory by the community organizer in a district that includes parts of the Bronx and Queens came after an energetic, grassroots campaign that mustered more than enough support in a low-turnout race that many had expected to be an easy win for Crowley, a member of the Democratic House leadership.

“The community is ready for a movement of economic and social justice. That is what we tried to deliver,” said Ocasio-Cortez, who has never held elected office and whose candidacy attracted only modest media attention.

She told The Associated Press after her victory that she didn’t have enough money to do polling in the race, but felt in her gut that her message had a chance to connect.

“I live in this community. I organized in this community. I felt the absence of the incumbent. I knew he didn’t have a strong presence,” she said.

Crowley has been in Congress since 1999 and hadn’t faced an opponent in a primary election since 2004, when Ocasio-Cortez was just a teenager. He was considered a candidate to become the next House speaker if Democrats win the majority.

“It’s not about me,” Crowley, 56, told his supporters at a campaign party following his loss. “It’s about America. I want nothing but the best for Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. I want her to be victorious.”

He later played guitar with a band at the election night gathering, and dedicated the first song, Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run,” to Ocasio-Cortez.

Crowley represents New York’s 14th Congressional District, where he is also the leader of the Queens Democratic party.

Ocasio-Cortez was outspent by an 18-1 margin during her race but won the endorsement of some influential groups on the party’s far left, including MoveOn, as well as the actress Cynthia Nixon, who is running for governor. She defeated Crowley by 15 percentage points.

Born in the Bronx to a mother from Puerto Rico and a father who died in 2008, Ocasio-Cortez said she decided to challenge Crowley to push a more progressive stance on economic and other issues.

She attended Boston University, where she earned degrees in economics and international relations, and also spent time working in the office of the late U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy.

After graduating, she returned to the Bronx where she became a community organizer. In the 2016 presidential campaign she worked for U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Among her issues is expanding the Medicare program to people of all ages and abolishing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. She recently went to Tornillo, Texas, to protest against policies that have separated parents from their children at the southern U.S. border.

Ocasio-Cortez gained some internet attention for a campaign video called “The Courage to Change,” a two-minute spot for which she wrote the script and featured footage from her own home.

Crowley is chair of the House Democratic Caucus, the fourth-highest ranking position in Democratic leadership in that chamber of Congress.

His loss drew the attention of President Donald Trump.

“Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election. In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!” he tweeted.

The Republican candidate for the office, Anthony Pappas, is running unopposed and had no primary. Pappas teaches economics at St. John’s University.

She was a Bernie campaigner, is supported by BLM, and wants to abolish Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Also this was in a solid-blue Congressional District so you know she's a shoo-in for next Congress.

But hey, we did get to see Trump laugh at Crowley on Twitter.

A synagogue was attacked and several Jews were murdered last year. These kinds of words and beliefs (Jews control everything and Jew money is behind American politics) continue perpetuating harmful stereotypes that feed into anti-semtism and deranged conspiracy theorists who then attack jews.

Pelosi needs to reign in both of these clowns but I don’t think she’ll be able too. They’re unapologetically Muslim and hate Israel and Jews.

More importantly a Dem Rep actually voicing this makes the Dems favorite and easiest source of money get pissed off and disapear. Thats the unpardonable political sin. "Thou shalt not mess with Pelosi's money".

The Cockroach stands by her girl.

Not long after Sarsour’s defense, Rep. Omar issued a statement, saying she is “listening and learning, but standing strong” and including an apology for how some people took it. “My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole,” she said. “This is why I unequivocally apologize.”

Omar then equivocated, using the same argument Sarsour made, using almost the same words.

Sarsour said “AIPAC is one of the most influential lobbies in American politics – alongside the NRA (maybe not anymore), fossil fuel industry and big pharmaceuticals.”

Omar in her statement said “I reaffirm the problematic role of lobbyists in our politics, whether it be AIPAC, the NRA, or the fossil fuel industry.”

God bless the headline writers at Fox News.

Too bad for Shaun King the one drop rule prevents him from joining any neo nazi groups or the KKK despite his extensive white heritage and pre-shaved head. Maybe if he rolls a natural 20 on his bluff check he can convince them he's just very tan.

Fucking lol. These idiots irritate the jew overlords enough for them to grumble audibly, then double down on the "hey, it's totes legit to criticize them!" even after stern warnings from fucking everybody within the House?

Holy fucking shit, this is going to be incredible to watch unfold.

Shaun King's punching a bit above his weight class, too. They'll squish him like a bug if he gets too lippy. They ain't exactly whitey, required by modern etiquette to sit back and take it. Jews get rather proactive about this stuff.

Infuriating that the house can't come together to put forth any useful legislation on issues that their constituents want addressed AND VOTED THEM IN FOR, but criticize AIPAC and suddenly it's a pressing bipartisan issue.:twisted::twisted:
See, this guy might have a point, and so might Glenn Greenwald and Shaun King, but then I remember Roseanne getting unpersoned for not knowing Valerie Jarrett was black and I say fuck the lot of them.

The point of a lobbyist in D.C. is literally to try and sway the opinions of the politicians in favour of whoever or whatever they're lobbying for. This isn't exactly news to anyone with an IQ anywhere above room temperature.

>everyone agrees that Shawn King is white
>Shawn King is championing anti-israel efforts
>Therefor, Shawn King should become the new leader of the alt-right
Flawless logic lads

As far as I can tell from the God Emperor Trump float in Italy we are still on the best timeline so that might actually be in the cards.

It seems every month that the Dems on their current track are reaching for the Jewish Question. How long till they start going to attack media and academia now?

Well I mean academia is solidly on the left side except for a few people who are quickly outed, fired, and silenced. Around 75% of media is on their side, or at the very least will only admit the left is wrong when it's so utterly obvious that denying it would be like denying the sun is real, and even then they'll try to stretch and make technicalities to soften the blow and spin it to try and make the right look bad somehow.

You're allowed to talk about that unless the lobbyists are Zionists, for some mysterious reason.

Imagine the tobbaco lobby but if they could point back into history to the time that people hated tobbaco lobbyists so much that they killed millions of them. Then they could equate criticism of the tobbaco lobby with hate.

*GASP!* "He's an Anti-Nicotinite!"

See, I think most Americans support Israel for their efficiency at murdering terrorists. Oh, and you know, being the closest country in the Middle East that doesn't resemble something from the Middle Ages.

wew, Shawn King goes right to the point of suggesting people read culture of critique before then backtracking and saying he's not like those Anti-Semites on the right: What did he mean by this?
>this isn't a trope

That word again...

It's an obvious euphemism for "bigoted rhetoric" or "canard", but of course it will be used by leftists for otherwise non-woke opinions from other leftists because the connotations are much softer than "bigotry and hate speech", therefore a mob won't be whipped up against them.

You'll never see the term "trope" used by leftists to describe the statements of anyone right-of-center, trust me.

Make lobbying illegal/unconstitutional.
