Nowadays, you can find all kinds of indie games out there that are $15 or less and provide hours and hours of entertainment. I've personally sunk hundreds of hours into a number of different roguelikes. But even if the $15 game is like 10 hours long, it's still a really good value.

$70 for 4 hours of fairly uninteresting gameplay is absolutely unacceptable. I guess the excuse is that the specs are insane so therefore it looks nice, but the facial animations in this game are genuinely ugly and the world is bland. No one in their right mind is going to go get a 4080 to see this piece of garbage in 4k.

Many of these shit AAA games are just not worth the money anymore. And this is not even getting into the fact that these AAA games are also devoid of creativity and may not even work the first week of release. A soulless, broken, short game for $70? Yikes, hard pass. Go play something cool and made with passion like Inscryption.

It would've made Borderlands 2 more tolerable. I get I stole a communicator on the enemies network; but I don't need their boss calling me up every 5 minutes to tell me about his dumb fucking diamond horse statue and other retarded shit.

Oh yeah fuck that retarded butt stallion bull shit. The humor in the first Borderlands doesn't always land nowadays but it was a lot more reserved about it. It's like with Borderlands 2 they were like "we have to try really hard to make this funny because Borderlands is funny", and it just comes off as annoying. Not to say Borderlands 2 is never funny, but I'd rather have occasional good jokes than constant bad jokes that are occasionally good. The first Borderlands is the GOAT of the series imo

Modern day develop are deathly afraid of the player not getting constant auditorial and visual stimuli and then getting bored and rating Monetization Platform #3527 low, so they absolutely crank up the particles and cram talking into every moment.

Though considering the average zoomer, they may be right.

This isnt bad in a quirky Deadly Premonition or Nier way, it's bad in a "This is almost a generic ubisoft open world AAA game but worse" way

I remember when Square was just SquareSoft. I don't remember when they merged with Enix. I didn't even know Enix was thing till they merged. I just recently bought Bravely Default II and Triangle Strategy for the Switch.

People start buying games that have the kind of content you are talking about and DON"T buy games like Forspoken. Sadly gamers are the weakest willed group out there but it does look like Forspoken won't be doing that well on the sales numbers.

How is Forspoken only four hours long? I've heard a couple reviews complain about how it's an Ubisoft style open world with 10,000 map markers and those types of games are long as fuck.

I can only assume they're just talking about the main quest?

IIRC, because I'm too lazy to look it up, they merged around the time of FFX. So, right around the time Square started to really suck shit.

Enix is a fucking cancer.

My serious take on the game being so shit:
Forspoken is something that started in 2017-2018
So Square still believed that making games catering to western market was a great idea
They only realized this was a mistake a lot later with avengers
But forspoken was just too far in development and already announced, at this point they just wanted to release it
But luminous will get shafted for sure, they already lost a lot of money in 2018, this is why tabata was fired. With forspoken being a failure i cant see they continuing this way

Before Frey’s trip to Athia, she manages to prove how much of an idiot she is by losing all her savings by refusing to pick it up. From the start, she is established as a petty car thief and it is implied all the money she has acquired was from being a criminal.

Her abrasive nature is further compounded by her incessant rudeness to the sentient, magical bracelet. The moment Frey acquires the bracelet, all it has done is save her life and endow her with unbelievable magical abilities.

She also acts incredibly inconsistent; one moment she is about to kill herself in New York after losing everything and then she misses the dreadful democrat-run city. She whines about the Break that zombifies people and the weird fantasy monsters, but back at home, she was on the run from gangs that she ripped off.

The more Forspoken develops its story, the more you’ll feel yourself feel checked out and disinterested. Most of the story involves Frey seeking out the Tantas, an all female group of magical warriors, and defeating them. Naturally, Frey also gains their powers when she throws down with them- once again proving New Yorkers are the most violent people in all dimensions.
