Who will be the scapegoat now that they have no western studios anymore?
Can't say. They company will probably die the way it wanted to die back in the early-2000s.

Forspoken has the same dialogue problem as Saints Row's reboot. Yet it somehow looks even less appealing than that game. How do you manage that??
Even better the mouse on the menus freezes up to a solid 5 seconds on PC. How does square keep fucking up even the most basic shit

IIRC, because I'm too lazy to look it up, they merged around the time of FFX. So, right around the time Square started to really suck shit.

Enix is a fucking cancer.
I never really liked FFX though I did buy it back then. But I also bought FF8 Chrono Cross and FF9 and I never liked those games either. Though I didn't dislike FF9 as much as I did FF8 and Chrono Cross. I hardly ever played Chrono Cross. I at least spent some time playing FF8 and 9.

I never played an Enix game.

Jesus SE...

My serious take on the game being so shit:
Forspoken is something that started in 2017-2018
So Square still believed that making games catering to western market was a great idea
They only realized this was a mistake a lot later with avengers
But forspoken was just too far in development and already announced, at this point they just wanted to release it
But luminous will get shafted for sure, they already lost a lot of money in 2018, this is why tabata was fired. With forspoken being a failure i cant see they continuing this way
Cyberpunk 2077 says hello. Seriously though, people should be used to it by now.

Never played an Enix game and never knew they existed. There is probably a reason for that.
Today on Steam:

40% of the reviews are positive. That's bad, lol. Apparently it came free with some new GPUs right now, including ones that struggle with it:

Eventually everyone gets Arkham Knighted. Sometimes the Arkham Knighting is more severe than others.

Christendom needs to learn to write enthusiastic shonen protagonists without a hint of malice or insincerity in their blood. It's high time for a modern Don Quixote.
They need to emulate something like the manga superior. The hero in that was a complete goodie two shoes and he was perfect example of how to do that and still be interesting.
DQ is the only reason I still even bother with SE tbh.

Im the guy who will never play it because of the art style.

It doesn't look that fucking bad. I can find "some" appealing elements in the world and plot. Saints row is pure cancer
Sad to see. As an act of kindness I'm going to help the company out by writing 20% of the dialogue for the next Kingdom Hearts game for them.

"Darkness."
"Light."

Done.
Feckless neophyte.

You can still get some old Square games new. The PS1 games are reprints on actual CD's. Yes they will work in a PS1. I think the PS2 games are just old unsold stock.

Don't remember this being posted in the thread, so I'll bring it up now:

Remember when Square Enix pretty much sold all of Square Enix Europe? If not, here's a great interview with the founder of Eidos Montreal discussing it. If you want an understanding of just how poorly run Square Enix is, this is a must read.

Well, anyway, it seems they weren't done. Only a few months after the deal closed, Square Enix mentioned that they were interested in selling their stakes in their remaining western studios. "What studios?", you may be asking. Beats the hell out of me. I don't know of any major western studios they still own. Apparently, this was being considered as part of a wider strategy to focus on their Japanese games and studios, which they felt were having to compete with the Western studios for resources. This was also more or less the reason why they sold the former Eidos studios and their associated IP.

However, apparently this is bigger than just western developers. It appears that Square Enix is moving away from directly owning studios entirely. Apparently, Square Enix are already taking inventory.
