It cannot be overstated how painful that buckwheat kneeling exercise is. I was enrolled in a karate/martial arts class when I was a very young kid. When we would fail a kata or exercise, the instructor would make us kneel on it. We would even do it in front of our parents because they are clueless Americans and really bought that this was a sane form of discipline. Even with a gi, unhulled buckwheat pierces through the fabrics and your skin.
It really doesn’t hurt until you begin to stand up, forcing the skin around the knee to stretch and contort, allowing the sharp edges of the buckwheat to begin expanding into your skin. Pulling them out is a nightmare.
People being forced to do this for 30+ minutes, multiple times a day… puking as a response to the reaction of pain… just shoot me.

what makes this more disturbing than cartel videos is the fact we are watching this LIVE in fucking youtube of all places.Part of the horror for me is the extended nature of it, like I mentioned upthread I've seen more than my share of gore and torture and death, but generally that ends in a few hours or days.
These people have been in this house for literally years. Maybe what they're enduring isn't as gruesome as a lot of other shit out there, but they must be so fucking broken by all this (and likely already were, to end up in that house anyway).
With catel videos &c at least you know the vic is likely going to be put out of their misery soon enough but Square Hut is so bleak to me because I don't see most of these people escaping unless they're accidentally beaten to death or something, even the ones who seem to be able to leave occasionally end up back there.
