The Studio Ghibli Meme Gallery - Using OpenAI 4 to convert popular memes into weeb drawings

Limited with Grok due to no premium, so I used it as well as I could.

So is youphoto.ai worth paying for or is there a way to get more free photos?

This one just gave me the strangest feeling. I feel like for most of the photos here, if the people in them saw these they'd crack a smile or something, but this is a little different.
Given what we know about Hitler, adding in the colors he chose for his own paintings, and given his appreciation for Odin iconography and "The Wild Chase" (Franz von Stuck) I feel like this specific image is something the man really would have liked.

How did this become a meme? Why Ghibli style specifically?
Meme because Ghibli stuff has always been cool. There's an appeal to the art that speaks to the soul, so when OpenAI's GPT-4o became capable of consistently producing Ghibli-like images, it took off because it was a perfect storm of something people love and things with which we are familiar.
"Love" by the way, is the key element here. Remember when that one journalist couldn't understand why people "On the right" would make JD Vance edits? It's because that writer fundamentally could not understand transformation or jokes as an expression of affection.
See this image of Alex Jones?

What a lot of people don't understand is that you can't just drop in the original image, say "Make this Ghibli" and get out what you see on the left. You have to write a detailed, functional prompt. It can be a simple prompt, but to make something good you need to have at least some degree of empathy or understanding of your subject.

Example of a simple prompt:
Code:
Prompt: "restyle image in studio ghibli style, keep all details"
Example of a complex prompt:
Code:
Transform the given image into the style of Studio Ghibli, emulating the techniques and aesthetics as if you were a dedicated fan who has trained for years to master this art form.

# Steps

1. **Analyze the Image**: Examine the original image to understand its composition, color palette, and key elements.
2. **Study Studio Ghibli Style**: Familiarize yourself with the distinctive features of Studio Ghibli's art style, including:
   - Soft, vibrant color palettes
   - Detailed backgrounds with a focus on nature
   - Expressive character designs with large, emotive eyes
   - Use of light and shadow to create depth
3. **Sketch the Transformation**: Create a preliminary sketch that incorporates the Ghibli style elements into the original image.
4. **Apply Color and Texture**: Use soft, vibrant colors typical of Studio Ghibli films. Pay attention to textures that mimic traditional animation techniques.
5. **Refine Details**: Add intricate details to the background and characters, ensuring they align with the Ghibli aesthetic.
6. **Final Adjustments**: Make any necessary adjustments to lighting, contrast, and saturation to achieve a cohesive look.

# Output Format

Provide a digital image file that reflects the transformation of the original image into the Studio Ghibli style. The file should be in a common format such as JPEG or PNG.

# Notes

- Pay special attention to the emotional tone of the image, ensuring it aligns with the whimsical and heartfelt nature of Studio Ghibli films.
- Consider the use of traditional animation techniques, such as hand-drawn lines and watercolor effects, to enhance authenticity.
- Ensure that the transformed image maintains the essence of the original while fully embracing the Ghibli style.

You also add additional details to bring out things the AI can't quite catch or understand, which is why we have a kind-of-depressed Alex on the left, compared to the original still on the right. The prompter was trying to create something new based on his impression of Jones.

Contrast this with this anti-AI art which just boils down to "Fictional character I like doesn't like you so you deserve physical harm you for doing something I don't like."

It's a Ghibli character leftists love to post screencaps from a movie they never watched. And if they did, probably not legally.

It's an excellent film, too. It's not as magical as you'd think from the main character being a pig, nor is it as cut and dry as "Fascists bad" either. Very melancholy.

I'm too retarded to use this AI shit. Can someone please do a rendition of Johnny Bravo flexing in Studio Ghibli style?

I had to use a 3D render because everytime I uploaded an image from the show ChatGPT refused to Ghiblify the image because it said it "violated the terms" or some bs.

Anyone done Mia Khalifa in Studio Ghibli style yet? I feel like I've seen that somewhere.

Edit: No, it was Pixar style.

The main cast of Are You Being Served?, a great British sitcom:
