I think that in trying times people like this should look to the story of Abraham, it's easy to get excited about a kingdom founded by some vital young conqueror, but the most enduring name in the bible, the one that is the basis of the three dominant religions on earth, is that of an old guy that followed the will of god. Old man, old wife, no kids, far from perfect. Dude messed up along the way, but founded a religious dynasty that has lasted thousands of years. It's never too late to get it together if you are willing to try.
