I just wish they'd read Genesis at least. Has a good order to it: Creation, Fall, Murder & Resentment, Flood, and then the stories of these very flawed people who have their names carved into history through managing to just make it out of problems they got themselves into. Abraham, Jacob/Israel, Joseph all had cringe moments, and it is only in this weird internet age that I have understood the importance of recording how Abraham lied about his wife to look cooler to a bunch of strangers. The bible knew how gay some among us would be, and wants them to know that they too can make it.

Both this and the above post matter because what killed E-Atheism was the growing perception that it was a bunch of arrogant little mediocrities trying to make you notice their gay little club (fedoras, euphoric, etc all worked because they pushed this perception). And before that Atheism successfully bullied Christianity because it could paint Boomer Christians as hypocrites and louts who were similarly acting like they had a lot of weight to throw around (I don’t think Falwell ever really materialized the millions he claimed to and Trump has helped prove that).

So I guess what I am saying is that people are very good at watching what you do and what you are independent of what you claim to be. All it takes is someone or something to give voice to that mood and it’s all over. And Synth himself is like a living meme or caricature of his own side.

I personally like the parts where Egad says he watches Synth for reasons that aren't the quality of his vids, truly a backhanded compliment.

Egad's writing style is just word salad that extends a point far beyond where it needs to go. It reeks of an English major who couldn't get a meaningful job related to their degree and has no actual productive way to use any of the "skills" they learned going into debt for it.
