So I've just started the first episode after getting around finishing the other shit I was watching, and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with how much nuance they are playing the whole 'Is he insane with PTSD or is there something actually going on'

It's not what I was expecting, but I am really liking it so far.

Holy fucking shit I never thought I would see Chris Pratt disembowel a guy using a tomahawk, then reach inside of him, take out his intestine, nail them to a wall, and force the guy to walk away.

Good news, I pay for Amazon Prime for shipping so I pay for it even if I don't like it.

But it is good that there is some decent shit finally being put on it. I'll watch it before bed tonight.

I really liked this show! The added salt from the usual suspects makes it even better. I hope we get a season two but not sure how that would play out given the circumstances the main character was in at the end. Are the books that the show is based off good?

four episode in and I dig it.
I never really cared about Chris Patt before, but he is really good in this. Who knew, when you don't force him to joke all the time, he turn out a good performance?

I finished it and it’s great. My father loves these kinds of stories and he recommended it to me. It’s not really the type of show I watch but I do love a good revenge story and it delivers. My only complaint is that it’s visually too dark at times so it’s harder to see stuff happening in certain parts.

I agree that the church stuff was bullshit too and that elliot should just 41% but how the fuck do you not remember those posts? I know plenty of hardcore christians (midnight mass, extralong vigil and rosary and confession types) that never built a fucking cross.

again its less based and more Amazon's bizarre niche. Bosch, Patriot, Reacher, Jack Ryan,and Goliath. For fucks sake you could even technically include the wheel of time and lord of the rings as part of it. all tv shows for the middle aged white man in all of us.

It honestly makes a lot of sense, Amazon was a bookseller, why not make tv shows based on the types of books that sold well, the books the power reviewers on the site like Newt Gingrich had a hard on for, especially when they're such an untapped market, CBS only has so many hours it can fill.

Going to potentially check it out this week. I keep seeing people question why it was given a low critic score so that means its actually good. Should I read the books first or just dive in?

The show starts slow, but it sets up a lot of shit.

Although I'm confused how you thought that the show started slow because 2 minutes in, for the next 15 minutes it's literally full-on action...

I agree that the middle of the first episode is a slow burn, but in retrospect all of those scenes are very important. I mean at the very least give the last 15 minutes a chance, that's when the episode (and show) goes from:
