The Terminal List - Newest deranged far-right revenge fantasy catering to my patrician tastes, and yours (if ur a fag)

I really enjoyed it but goddamn I hated the ending.
The only thing I wish I could change about the ending is that once he's done with the sicarios who killed his family, he stays in mexico to get operated on and then spends months to recuperate and get back in shape, and then goes on take care of the military targets, so it's more of a 'holy shit it's that guy' they thought was dead/a ghost and it makes it a bit more believable that he wouldn't get caught getting to the Secretary of Defense. A time jump would have made more sense imo.

Otoh since the first episode I knew the CIA guy was involved, just a gut feeling, so the "twist" didn't bother me.

Oh, I think a better ending would have been,

After everything is all said and done, after he kills Ben and is on the boat looking at the picture Lucy drew and sailing into the sunset, he should have died of the tumor right there. It would have been more poignant I feel. He has literally nothing left to live for and he's accomplished all the goals he set out to do during the series, his family, team, best friend are all dead...

I didn't know until after that this was based on a book series and season 1 is only the first book but it told a perfect open and shut story imo so there's no need for the miracle surgery in Mexico to keep it going and having this dude be some pre amnesia Jason Bourne. I feel it ruins the whole set up of The Terminal List.

I mean he has plenty more names to add onto his list since there are 4 more books to adapt. xD

Funnily enough, when he closed his eyes on the boat I thought that was exactly what was going to happen there and then.

And I'm fine with that!

Well if they adapt the others and it's as good as this one, I don't mind. Like I said, I watched this without knowing it was part of a series until like a day after so those were just my thoughts without that knowledge.

Finished watching it, would recommend. Above average, I thought Chris Pratt did a good job as a damaged operator. Show generally stuck the landing although the last twist felt a little cheap and the reporter was starting to get annoying by the end. Definitely didn't pull any punches with the 5th gen GWOT tactics like IEDs and suicide vests used.

It definitely would have been better if he died at the end, but if it wanted to be more than one season we could have been left with the Oberon tie left unresolved instead of the Asian woman being dues ex machina. I just watched The Gray Man and they also use an Asian woman to the same effect, they are the new magical negro in storytelling.

Ada Wong yellow fever finally catching on, only took 25 years.

If you're a fan of Terminal List, you should check out The Old Man. It's less violent, but deals with the same themes, old spook that went into hiding fucks shit up when his government decides to fuck him over.

I'm three episodes in but it's really good.

I've been meaning to catch that. Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow sounds like an awesome fucking time.

It's a great fucking time. It's kind of like if you mixed The Terminal List with Rubicon but, you know, with old people.

It's really really fucking good (just finished the fourth episode)
