We have no official Terminator thread (only small ones dedicated to specific topics and entries) so, to keep things more organized, I have taken the liberty of making an official general thread for the franchise, so do feel free to talk anything related to it.

Movies, comics, tv shows, anime, books, you name it. If it has terminator in it, it checks out.

Just to get it out of the way

T1- 8.5/10
T2- 9/10
T3- 6.5/10
TS- 7/10
TG- 3/10
TDF- 2/10

Surely a series that gets more relevant the more we seem to drift into an AI World, despite the movies getting shittier.

Should obviously say spoilers for the show for anyone who hasn't watched it, but yep!

TSCC had some good moments, among them the T-1001 (Shirley Manson from Garbage!):

I knew which clip that would be before it even loaded. That scene is great because there's so much built up tension with her just waiting for the moment she finally goes full terminator. And boy is it satisfying when she does. And yet, for me the great parts are the little character moments with her. Just tiny things like when a magazine photographer asks her to turn her head a quarter inch to the left and the precise way she turns it exactly that. Or the really creepy moment where she tells someone else's deeply personal story to the psychiatrist which would be fine if you weren't aware that it was a near perfect imitation of the other person telling you'd seen her see earlier in the episode.

These are both fantastic and for some of the same reason that the T-1001 scene is (and due respect for correctly stating she's a T-1001 not a T-1000). For the most part the TV show is a lot more spaced out than the movie for obvious reasons and the terminators are typically just doing their thing under cover. The moments where you see them go full murderous pack a great punch.

The show's not perfect. I could do with less voice-over and pop philosophy. But I liked it a lot.

Terminator 3 overall is bad, but the ending is unironically kino.
It does a nice thing in how it comes up with a logical reason why John Connor ends up this pivotal figure, placing him in that bunker as the only real surviving oversight. And because he's the only one who really knows what's actually just happened and is prepared for it.

If anyone here is a fan of the Future War scenes in T1 and T2, I recommend Terminator: Resistance. It's definitely not a AAA experience and was made by maybe five Polacks on a 2000 Zloty budget, but for ten bucks on sale, it's pretty good if you're into videogames.

T1 was more of a horror movie, 2 was an action movie, 3 was what the fuck, salvation was good, genesys was meh, dark fate was girl boss slay queen garbage. SCC was pretty good all in all, wish it was longer.

The novels were pretty good. Ive read them all except one, many times over. The t2 infiltrator series was the best, then the salvation series was good as well. Terminator 3 aside from the main novel was good, I never bothered with the original t3 novel.

Resistance is dope, I beat it a dozen times, including annihilation line and infiltrator mode. I liked sneaking up on the humans in the sniper nests and throwing them off the top of the building. And if you buy the cheaper ps4 version, you get the ps5 upgrade and expansions free.

T2 2d no fate just dropped but I'll wait on it to go on sale, its only $30 but I've been buying too many games.

Im pissed about Survivors getting pushed back yet again, and multi-player being removed.

Also I need to download the old PC games that Bethesda made back in the 90s.

Does a series with only two movies really count as a "series"?

T2 was an icon of the early 90's, and was better than T1. Fortunately, they chose to end on an absolute high note and that was the last Terminator movie made.

Edit: there are no books or games based on these movies.
