Most of the time, I just see people who sipped the SomethingAwful Kool-Aid, or people who were brainwashed by years of blatant social media astroturfing or marxist propaganda (also astroturfed). I guess shonentards/hood weebs, teens with unsupervised internet access (usually the unfunny non-sequitor image responses are a dead giveaway), furfags, "safe horny" faggots that call anything hetero-normative "gooner" material (even if it's covered in hijabs) until it's straight up gay sodomy, YouTube drama grifters like Jon Del Arroz or Raz0rfist, and fat ugly radfems (also troons) that are gonna die alone due to spending too much time on Tumblr at least fall under one of those categories. So most of the fringe insufferable dipshits on social media sites with enough disposable income and a large enough ego to waste on bot farms.

This might be getting a bit into conspiracy theory territory, but I legit find it funny how VICE (a company that was owned at least partially by Disney before 2025 and bailed out by George Soros multiple times) put out a hilariously misleading and potentially illegal hitpiece "documentary" about the manga industry, just to then get an award for it (that totally wasn't paid off in the same way that Disney pays for awards on their animated films, nothing to see here). Guess what big comic book company that Disney also owns that has been declining for years due to poor management and DEI nonsense? Totally not shady at all.

A bit of a side-tangent, maybe it's just me, but usually from what I see when I see people like that, it also reminds me of the connection between the "all art is political" dipshits, the ones that want to censor art (despite constantly virtue signaling about games and animation as an artistic medium), and the same people that agree with Stalin that "art must be utilitarian in nature, and that art without a political purpose will be given one". Explains why stuff like Dustborn and a ton of modern western AAA games really cannot be separated from propaganda, because it has all of the hallmarks of it PLUS government funding.

The debate around loli wasn't even really a thing outside of the anime community until that VICE documentary popped up which in of it's self was incredibly miss leading and bad faith. To the point of they found an actual pedophile and had him blame all his actions on some manga he read decades ago. It's why you get all these retards in these discussions now, they saw some clip or someone else mention this video and decide to jump in when in reality, they don't care too much about these issues and actively re-share the images (which regardless of context would be distribution in their logic).

If you want to shut the whole argument down, call them a nigger and refuse to elaborate further.

Speaking about this, he recently did this with Asmongold, botted his likes as well, and then proceeded to cry when he got death threats. As a reminder, he did endorse what people were doing with Pikamee and Chibi Reviews, so I personally think this guy deserves his own thread and a dox at this point. Gotta love the gaslighting.

It's worth mentioning "Zhang Yong" is just one of multiple PG ripofs of "Weihan Zhang", a fake racist Chinese account that gave us "not allow", "grandparent cry", "broken branch", "species incorrect" etc. Basically just a castrated downgrade of a much better racist account that has nothing going for it beyond "Chinese man speaking bad english." Regurgitating phrases that were once meant to ruthlessly mock interracial couples. That faggot should be hated on that alone, not for bandwagoning on the "gimmick accounts having psychotic episodes over lolicon."

There actually were a number of Weihan Zhang revivals (most likely not made by him) that continued on his legacy. None as good as the original but they still did what made him so special reasonably well. Accounts like Zhang Yong don't even try to be that beyond repackaging his signature phrases for people who just want "funny foreign guy with bad english." I don't see anywhere near enough people calling this out.

tl;dw the video is okay as hell. Interesting premise, involving Sleeping Beauty and how word of mouth and revisionism can erase a story. However, it results in dick sucking Utena (IT'S NOT THAT GOOD PEOPLE ONLY LIKE IT BECAUSE IT'S YURI BAIT) and some fine art for some set dressing. I think I'd like it from someone else, especially if it's about the story "deserving a better ending" and it's just trans-femme scott the woz rambling on about how the story is a chimera.

The thing with a lot of Xitter users is that they don't believe most of the shit they actually say, they just follow whatever is the trending topic at the time in order to get a dopamine hit from a "hit tweet."

I've no doubt quite a number of them do genuinely believe loli shit is pedophilia but then you have people like this who only put this shit up as a front to seem like one of the "normal" fans only to get caught liking the exact same shit in secret.
