Something that amuse me about the whole lolicon stuff is whenever pressed on why they never go after shotacon the same way they do with lolis, it's always "it's the same, but lolis worse" or "It's not popular enough" at this point they should admit their priorities are skewed. Plus its amusing when people like clay claymore or duncancantdie ignores the fact where they come from either has high human trafficking of children(claymore lives in california) or even ranked number 5 for highest sex crimes in the world(duncancantdie from the uk)
Also when they say pedophilia in Japan id allegedly normalize, they can't be bothered to explain why it's not high or why Japan even allows kids to walk home by themselves. They feel more like excuses to justify Anti-Japan xenophobia.
I've stated this before, but shota is just
"slightly" more acceptable than loli is. It's popular in boys love which is mostly consumed by women and in hentai because of the whole, "boy gets fucked by his mom and her friends" trope. What antis will tell you is that male characters aren't sexualized in that way and aren't considered to be much of a priority most of the time. They're of course blatantly lying and have no problem following or liking shota content on twitter. They might also find babyfurs and cub art permissible as well since depictions of anthro animal children don't count.
Also on the topic of "pedobaiting" I just find that the whole thing defeats the purpose of attracting pedophiles, since it's an adult involved and not an actual minor. I mostly see it as "ageplaying lite" since they aren't totally regressing to being an adult baby. Is it weird? Of course it is, but it's still adults doing this of sort of roleplay on their own volition. It's also strange that it's only petite women getting these sorts of accusations of supposedly attracting pedophiles, but not short men? It's very rare that I see femboys being targeted for this in particular so I can only guess that it's a case of double standards. It's alarming to me that adult women who happen to be petite and/or youthful being told that only pedos would be attracted to them. They can't control something like their height or certain disorders that make them look younger than they actually are.
And regarding the blatant anti-Japanese sentiment that I've been seeing from Americans, Canadians, or the British; they don't have any room to talk in regards to how they blatantly mishandle the safety of children. Americans can whine about loli/shota all they want and say that it should be banned or spread misinformation about it being illegal in the states. But it's never going to be illegal considering the fact that
real children being exploited is more of a pressing issue that has to be dealt with
DAILY. The UK regularly covers up grooming gangs while they wag their finger as Japanese artists for not banning all of their offensive content. It's very telling when people from the west would sooner falsely accuse an innocent person of being a pedophile than identify actual predators within their own homes, schools, churches, or in other communities.
Japan isn't perfect by any means and their are disturbing elements within their culture when it comes to how they treat women and girls. It doesn't mean that western countries are even remotely better in that regard either. If even people from Japan is saying that it's weird that female pedophiles often get lighter sentences and are not even put on any registry at all, then maybe they should think twice before assuming shit about them in the first place.
