I wrote a song for our dear feeder.

[Chorus]
What's new Joshua Moon?
We're coming after you
We're gonna DDoS that site
I see you Joshua Moon
The trail leads back to the farms
What's new Joshua Moon?

What's new Joshua Moon?
We're gonna find your mom
We're gonna DDoS that site
We see you Joshua Moon
The trail leads back to the farms
What's new Joshua Moon?

[Verse]
Don't look back, you may find another tranny
Lolcows will be waiting here for you

[Chorus]
What's new Joshua Moon?
We're gonna find your mom
We're gonna DDoS that site
We see you Joshua Moon
The trail leads back to the farms
What's new Joshua Moon?

[Bridge]
Na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na
Na na na na na
What's new Joshua Moon?

[Verse]
Don't look back, you may find another tranny
Lolcows will be waiting here for you

[Chorus]
What's new Joshua Moon?
Wе're coming after you
We're gonna DDoS that site
I see you Joshua Moon
The trail leads back to the farms
What's new Joshua Moon?

would not call myself a Scooby do fan but i did watch some of the shows when it was airing on tv. The Scooby doo show, Scooby doo and Scrappy doo show, Scooby doo and the 13 ghosts and a pup named Scooby. think i saw one movie when they actually encountered real ghosts and had to remove a curse which i thought was pretty good. heard the first live action movie was also pretty good and considered a classic by the fans. maybe i should give it a watch at some point?

still the best show intro only because i was a big simple plan fan back then.

Why is Velma black now?
The show was bred in a lab to get hateclicks from literally everyone. It has a main character who is black, but is also more racist than the birth of a nation. The dialogue was hand-crafted by a psychology major and an english major to breed hatred within the souls of anyone with a functioning brain. Every line is designed to piss off a completely different demographic, ensuring that the demographic that might like that line is also pissed off by literally the next three words.

TL;DR it is a show that was made to get high viewership from people on the internet who want to get angry. Ignore it and it will end.

OK so far we got a general western animation thread, a thread for Velma now this.

Give that Velma show credit its generated the most talk about scooby doo since 1969.

I watched the first episode, I couldn’t bring myself to watch the second. The show is so full of bait that by comparison it makes /pol/ catalog look like the house of wisdom. It’s not even funny to make fun of it’s just that bad.

Watched a little of it as a kid. It was never something I was really into, but I didn't hate it either. Very middle of the road show. 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo was probably my favorite just for Vincent Price lending his voice.

Last Scooby related thing I saw was some newer episode where Harlan Ellison was guest starring as himself. That got a chuckle out of me. Like I said, show wasn't really my thing growing up, but I didn't hate it and I can see why it holds a special place in a lot of people's hearts. The Velma show made by the poop golem I'm convinced is her version of Springtime For Hitler at this point.

Fine, I’ll go off the Velma train to speak about Scooby Doo.

Honestly, Scooby Doo is a brand with lots of potential that has just been dragged through the mud for years. It is WB’s Boost era Sonic, in that irony and blatant disregard for the franchise slowly became the norm. While funny at first, it has way overstayed its welcome. How many Scrappy Doo bad gags can this series shit out, it is practically a ritual at this point. James Gunn turbo-fucked the IP by introducing meta humor and LGBT Velma into this franchise.

When not killing it self through meta, the series is typically pulling shipping shit. The series only has two consistent couples, those being Daphne x Fred and Shaggy x Velma. Of those, both are terrible. Fred and Daphne have no chemistry beyond being the hot ones and every depiction of their romance ends in the same “will they, won’t they,” usually with some hot piece of ass introduced to make one of them jealous. Meanwhile Shaggy x Velma is usually so forced that it kills even good adaptations. It is nothing but Velma belittling Shaggy, with them only being paired because geeks/last two human members of the gang. It is no wonder why Scooby fans devolve into gay shit, as the current pairs are milk toast.

Next, the franchise’s over reliance on crossovers has become grating. While something like Batman or Johnny Bravo held some charm, nowadays they feel like desperation. Only a year or two ago, Scooby had a Halloween crossover between Elvira, Batman, and Bill Nye the Science Guy…What The Fuck!? It has gotten to the point where I honestly just question if Scooby is part of DC comics as they can casually interrogate a Batman villain without it being a crossover. While I can give credit to them doing Courage as a long time coming (though the fact that they didn’t inform the creator was shitty), they will then do a crossover like Steve Urkel? In 2020? Why?

I should also mention the Daria-fication of Velma as a downside. Sarcastic Velma was funny for Mystery Incorporated but has gotten overly played out leading to the current series.

The problem with Scooby is that it is a series being regularly shit out with little passion or variation. It feels like most writers just hate this franchise and WB is turning it into an IP farm in a desperate attempt for attention. It has gotten to the point where Robot Chicken skits are more Scooby Doo than the brand itself. What the brand needs is a passionate individual willing to take risks with it, maybe even try to rework Scrappy instead of making the easy jab. How we got to Velma is pretty clear if you watched the degradation of this series.

This time, the monsters are real.
Oddly enough, I think the show jumped the shark when it started introducing supernatural elements. I know a lot of people think it was a needed change, but I liked the idea of a cartoon that promoted skepticism. The fact that Shaggy and Scooby were jumping from spooks that were never real was part of the humor. Theoretically, the cartoon could have been taking place in the real world, with talking animals being the only concession to reality. But adding ghosts and (later) meta elements makes it seem faker.

Scooby-Doo is always one of those show for me where I liked as a few years as a tween. Then, the sec I turned 14/15 ish.. I hated it. Same with Friends but that lasted until I was around 16.
