Alright, here's a little wrap-up on Akemi/Damian. This post will primarily be trivia and speculation about how he arrived to his curent state, but first I'll provide another piece of evidence that his name is Damian Daughtry.

In 2008, he made a virtual memorial here: http://virtual-memorials.com/main.php?action=view&mem_id=11865

If you look in the top right, it says "Akemi(Formally: Damian; In her Memory was changed)" - confirming that he changed his name to Akemi from Damian. The name "Akemi Mido" instead of "Akemi Mokoto" shows up only one other place in relation to Damian/Akemi, as a Wikipedia username.

Now who is Akemi and why did he create a virtual memorial for her? Well, that involves a bit of speculation and looking into the details of an anime called Saikano. Seeing Saikano seems to have been a pivitol moment in his life. Most obviously, it was the source material for a few of his screennames - "Saikano," "Saikanova" and "Akemi," but also because many of the accusations of his behavior are in line with elements of the anime. It was essentially the source material for his sociopathic lies. Big spoilers follow. I'll tag the huge ones.

Saikano is an anime but about a large-scale war in Japan. In it, an older male, Shuuji befriends to younger girls, Akemi and Chiise. Long story short, they both die under tragic circumstances. Akemi, in particular, dies in an earth-quake.

These details are important because we've seen several accusations of him inventing "little sisters" who have died or otherwise been taken away from him. Despite him taking the female name Akemi, one of the girls who dies in the series, he has cast himself as Shuuji.

On Urban Dictionary, Akemi/Damian defined "Project: Akemi" like this:

The Project/Experiment ended early after an "Unforeseen Event" caused it to shut down! The results of the Study wont be available to the Media until Early 2008! Rumors state there may be another study attempt in the VERY near future!

From what I can see, he's essentially saying that he's been lying about his life in order "study reactions." The lies almost certainly revolved around the death of his imaginary little sister, his Akemi stand-in. Why he would take on the name of the female character, rather than Shuuji, is still unknown to me.

He also pulls a Shaner here with his usage of the word "privet."

This ties in with this Everything2 post that I wasn't able to make sense of until now. In it, a character named Akemi dies in an earthquake in Kansas. This is clearly the work of an unintelligent teenager trying to pull the wool over people's eyes. http://everything2.com/user/Akemi

Of note, in the Everything2 link, we see that, under "specialties" he lists "Getting in peoples heads" - taken alone this means nothing, but in the grand scheme this is a pretty obvious and early sign of sociopathic tendencies.

Another detail about his online presence that lines up with Saikano is the "Lolicon Defense Task Force" - an "organization" he formed while still in high school. This would have been around the time he viewed Saikano, which heavily features the "Japanese Self-Defense Force." Of course, the Japanese Self-Defense Force exists in real life as well, but I think it's likely he discovered the naming convention from Saikano.

Moving past Saikano, here are various pieces of trivia I've picked up in my research:

He has an okcupid page. Only detail of interest here is that it says he "attended high school" rather than "Graduated high school" - perhaps lending some credence to the idea that he got kicked out of school.

I've avoided any real mention of Yalitz Lopez, but I find this bit a little too fascinating. It's a great example of how childish Akemi is. If you do a google search for "Yalitz Lopez is a slut" you get some examples from all over the internet of people referring to her being a slut, but mostly from message boards and forums that watch police chases and on yelp reviews for a BBQ joint called "Chris & Pitts" in Culver, California.

What's the connection? Well, in September, there was an armed stand-off in Chris And Pitts. Akemi used his "PCA Live" facebook account, linked above to stream it. When it had a large number of viewers, he apparently ran the text "Yalitz Lopez is a slut" across the bottom of the screen for about 15 minutes. I have not seen this footage myself, but I was informed of it by someone trust-worthy who saw it themselves. Further, google results corroberate that that there is a connection between "Yalitz Lopez is a slut", Akemi's stream and Chris And Pitts. Check it out:

Clearly he has some very deep hatred for Yalitz. This is obviously concerning.

He's not even referring to her like a girlfriend anymore, but as his captive. The police can't arrest him unless Yaya makes a statement against him, and he knows it. It's so frustrating.

Not a lawyer but I think the actual legal situation is a lot more complex than that.

I wonder how or why Yaya even puts up with his shit
she can definitely get a nicer guy who would go head over heels for her and not treat her like shit, probably quite easily too
but Damien probably brainwashed her into thinking she can't do much better so she won't leave him.
this stuff will probably really effect her self esteem years after he is gone from her life

I'm leaning towards severe Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Everything he does is to prove how special he is, how powerful he is, how no one is like him, etc. Many abusive partners have NPD. It's not treatable, the best thing to do with a narcissist is to avoid them. Also, his threat to commit suicide if she leaves him is a classic sign of emotional abuse. He better hope his girlfriend doesn't get fed up with his shit and file a complaint. Also, there are certain circumstances where the consent of the victim is not required for an arrest. Sooner or later, he'll cross that line.
