This is just a preference thing that doesn't matter at all. However, would usage of the "Agree" and "Disagree" ratings be useful in gauging a post in feedback? There will be shitposts and shitpost ratings of course, but it would still help gauge those posts that are actually thought out on whether people like the idea or not.

Like this post itself for example: with the binary rating system we could gauge whether this would be something people want or not, and also gauging reactions as well to this.

But this is a preference, and is probably absolutely retarded, but I wanted to bring it up. We can just use polls instead if anything else.

Agree

i just want more ratings so i can feel better about myself tbh fam

People could just make a poll like you did if they have a serious idea. If they can't figure that out and they can't get supportive comments their idea is likely not worth voting on anyway.

Disagree

But then they would be seeing feedback on feedback to a feedback post

When it was proposed last time, the moderation's response was that it would drive bandwagoning along the most popular replies and deter people from articulating their reasonings or adding to the posts they agree with.

Having ratings on this board would be detrimental to my shitposting and my mentality regarding said shitposting.

Well, one way to fix that is just make a feedback "agree" rating that is neutral as well within feedback. Or make two "agree" and "disagree" ratings that have no points at all in the positive or neutral rating counts within feedback. They are just indicators that hold no real value besides as physical representations of what each post's opinion is thought of in the consensus. We can also make it like a poll in that you can't see the rating count until you vote yourself-- and after you vote, you cannot revote again. This will get rid of bias voting habits.

Also, the use of anonymity is always an option for people if they need to say stuff but are worried about backlash even if the ratings hold no value whatsoever.

I believe there are other methods we can use as well as the above I mentioned. I just believe just using a poll will only gauge the response to the OP, but not the suggestions that are given within the OP. An example of this problem is this post: I can't tell if what I'm saying would be favorable to others besides maybe responses given to this post itself-- and I can't make a sub-poll in regards to just this post and what it says.

Agree.

Or try to hide agree/disagree ratings for Feedback before you can rate a post here.
