The very fact that multicellular life exists proves that it is possible for free-willed individuals to be conformed and forced to perform specific tasks their entire lives until they get old enough to no longer be useful and are forced to kill themselves. The cells of our body have no hope to rise up and fight against the system they are imprisoned within. With the help of technology, it is inevitable that that sort of existance will eventually become a reality for some of Humanity. Hopefully not the majority though.
