The Windows OS Thread - Formerly THE OS for gamers and normies, now sadly ruined by Pajeets

It is what I used last time, but I found that the launch at startup kept breaking during its frequent updates
Autohotkey? May or may not like the stupid multimedia keys depending on a bunch of stuff.

I'm pretty much only using it for a virtual machine, a htpc that can play all windows games without headache, and a htph connected to a touchscreen with proprietary drivers that don't support Linux.

Speaking of which, what is the best key remapper that can remap keys such as Brower home or launch media or mail apps? I have a usb remote I use for them that I'd like to remap a key to full screen or whatever.
sharpkeys:

install it, use it to modify and change the registry values from one key into an another.
afterwards you can uninstall it since the regedit is persistent and doesn't require scripts or programs running.

It doesn't recognize special keys like the browser home button or the mail/music app buttons, just giving an unrecognized key error

The Microsoft Store app on my Windows 10 has decided that it wouldn't load properly. If I refresh the page I get a message telling me to check my Internet connection (it works fine of course).
I tried to find a solution on Google but none of the suggestions from the pajeets work.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does it work on a different account on the same computer? Does it work if you change your DNS settings? Do other computers on your network have a similar issue?

I only have one account, I've logged out and in again and same thing. I've changed the DNS and nothing. The other PC has no issue with the store.

Well for one, don't use windows 11 home/pro, use windows 11 iot ltsc. Otherwise it's just Windows 10 2, ai boogaloo
From what I understand, you need certain hardware for the Copilot thing. Or is there more AI that I'm not aware of?

Update on my issue: the Store is working again. Still no idea of what the problem was.

Yes but all new x86 chips have it, and Microsoft is entangling it into the Windows file explorer so it can't be completely purged without breaking that
I'm surprised that they're not having two sets made. One without NPUs, and a more expensive version with them.

Is it possible for a windows 10 ltsc VM to have multiple users logged in via remote desktop or something?

No, you need a Windows Server OS (plus enough CALs for all the users you need concurrently logged in - out of the box you're limited to 2)

Booooo. Two would've been sufficient.
Could a pirated version of Windows server do it? Or is it too different for steam and professional software to work?

I remember encountering a similar issue and what worked was RDP Wrapper. Thing is, the wrapper binary hasn't been updated in a while and the .ini file for the linked updater also hasn't been updated, and it has to update whenever a new Windows build is released to patch the right codes, so YMMV.

I have the misfortune of knowing MSOffice will work on Server if installed there. No idea about Steam but I imagine it'd probably work, modulo the usual LTSC asterisks.

Not that you necessarily care since you're going to pirate, but the licensing situation for Office on servers seems to be somewhere between "loosey-goosey" and "totally out of compliance". I believe the licensing is generally for specific users on specific machines, not effectively setting up your own micro-Office 365 over RDP.
