I'll be building a Windows 7 gaming PC with time correct parts to go with my retro gaming collection when I can get to it so I can play all of the PC exclusive games I missed out on from the 90-00s. I'm actually really excited to do it I have a collection of obscure big box PC games i'm itching to play.

Nearly all those games will run fine in Win 11.

The Linux Kernel is a bloated mess (but still way better than anything microsoft) because of DRIVERS and because of HARDWARE and CPU ARCHITECTURES and having to support every damn piece of hardware made in the last 20+ years. It has also tons of crap in it that are completely unnecessary for 99% of users and are only used by big corporations and government contractors to run military systems.

Large contributors of code to the kernel are companies like Red Hat that are government contractors for the military, IBM, Alphabet, and so on. The military or spy agencies are the primary driver behind code contributions ever since late 00s, after they extended EEE to Linux as they saw it as a dangerous up and coming competitor to their then favorite walled garden OSs like Windoze or any closed source thing they already had backdoors to.

Also driven by AI and all this crap in the last decade that is also a big push by shady bank, corporate and spy interests intended to not only guzzle up all your private data into the cloud but to run the AI datacenters that will store and process all that data and also replace you all with shitskin monkeys using AI to maintain systems that they don't even understand.

Gaming and GPU drivers and all this crap is just intended to make you, the gaming addicted drug addict, to be a complacent sheep, to give you dopamine in your brain so that you don't revolt when they shove their 100th privacy violation up your gaping drug addict trooned out pedophile ass. Gaming is the circus in the "bread and circuses" equation to keep you pacified, and they're all out of bread, so they're doubling down on the circus.

If you can't escape even the proprietary shit OS that Windows has become (it was NEVER good, it was only TOLERABLE up until Windows 8 ) there's no hope for you. If you haven't even escaped to the slightly less pozzed Linux (but still a lost cause ever since about 10-15 years ago) there is no hope for you to even escape from Linux into something free when they will completely POZZ the kernel to be even worse than Windows ever was.

They're gonna put backdoors into the kernel, hidden in the giant bloat that they're putting into it for more than a decade now, with things like trojan horses called Rust, or giant code contributions that are written by AI, or that are too large and numerous to be audited by the non-compromised FOSS community before it's too late.

GNU and FLOSS are long dead. Their dead body skin suits are being worn by evil 3-letter agencies. There is no escape from these FRANKENSTEIN RADIO CONTROLS emplanted deep inside your WEAK PRIMATE skulls.

Somehow and with no warning, my operating system was updated to Windows 11. I think they snuck this in during their most recent maintenance update and I am fucking mad on the internet. All the command keys that I have used for 20 fucking years no longer work because they have been "updated" . For some reason, the master list is in the middle of my screen instead of in the bottom left. Why? Who knows! Who cares!

All the master lists for right click and windows-alt have been optimized. and by Optimized I mean they have been changed for no explicable reason. The entire user experience has been made unfriendly and I am now forced to search for user guides to use an operating system I mastered THIRTY FUCKING YEARS AGO AND DID NOT REQUIRE A GUIDE TOO 25 FUCKING YEARS AGO! FUCK YOU MICROSOFT! YOU ONLY HAVE CUSTOMERS BECAUSE OF EASE OF USE AND FAMILIARITY! WELL YOU FUCKERS MADE MY COMPUTER NOT EASY TO USE AND UNFAMILIAR FOR NO FUCKING REASON AT ALL! Anyway, back to windows. Microsoft missed a big chance in the 2000s to make a headless Windows easily available for free for servershit. It could have caught on.

This should have been Server Edition but God forbid microsoft doesn't attach a GUI and price to any and every windows program in existence, tough shit but they had nothing to gain then from pushing into the server market and they definitely don't now.

My work computer has Windows 11. I've disabled absolutely everything I could. And I still feel dirty using it. On my personal machine, I've got Linux installed. Started a few years ago with Fedora, then switched around to various distros settling on Arch. Wanted to try something different, so went to Pop! OS, then I tried Elementary OS. I'm now using Arch again.

I did like Windows 10 (for the most part). Windows 11 is a nightmare in more ways than one. I really am sick of these dirty street crappers on tech positions. Go back to India and make your own operating system. But Bill Gates is a massive faggot.

Win7 was a piece of shit just like Win11 is, it came with just the same amount of "improvements" for old interface elements and applets that didn't need to happen, invasive shit like enforced automatic updates that would reenable themselves randomly if you turned them off, not to mention bloat bloat bloat. Microsoft has waged an active war on the start menu design going back to WinXP, making the interface fuglier and less customizable, adding increasingly oppressive DRM and hamstringing administrative tools almost randomly. the difference between then and now is the obsession with telemetry (that was Win10's major vice) and now AI (also a major Win10 feature, now it's the Win11 bugbear). honestly, the last time MS made a truly user-friendly OS was fucking Win2K, debatably. just about everything since then has been one step forward and two steps back. Win95 and Win98 had a lot of similar problems, they were clunky pieces of shit with rampant bugs and stability problems especially close to launch, but in the WinXP days - back when it first launched and was a clunky piece of shit, like every MS OS - you had nerds opining about The Good Days of Win98SE, when Windows actually worked and Microsoft still cared about the consumer. MS has never cared about the consumer, their successes have been sporadic and almost incidental, every good thing Microsoft has done has always been a nugget of gold buried in a monster pile of gorilla shit. The publisher of winget had a transflag until recently and the main developer of Garuda Linux is Indian so Troonix is a meme. Schizos like Mental Outlaw pushed me to switch over and I will swear on the gamer distros being so idiot proof that they are better than Ubuntu and Mint or Fedora for total beginners who aren't even gamers. Garuda Linux is Arch Based and lets you use the BORE scheduler from CachyOS without the obnoxious online only install from Cachy. Forced downloads on install are something I HATE about Windian 11. PikaOS is another Debian based alternative with the Kernel optimizations which I will shill

My base Fedora install fucked itself after an update from discovery but Nobara and Bazzite work just fine if I update them. Kubuntu will fight me on installing some flatpaks because Canonical is just Microjeet Jr. and Mint doesn't have a proper KDE skin I like and doesn't like my motherboard BIOS being too new. I don't like immutable distros or even the spergy Opera GX tier theme of Garuda but they just work and wine has come a long way so I will reccomend total noobs Bazzite and Garuda over Ubuntu or Mint personally

Unironically in the process of building my next PC to serve me for the next half decade or full decade. Was going to install windows like I usually do, but may bite the bullet and try Linux.
