Despite how Ciri gets portrayed in 4, I wish they wouldn't have reused any characters from the past games. Witcher 3 / Blood & Wine had a nice ending and should be left at that.

Having Ciri end up as a hobo Witcher just seems like a truly shit ending to her story after all of W3. If they wanted a female protagonist so badly maybe make a game where you play a sorceress or something, that would change it up a bit.

The real issue with Ciri is she just isn't interesting. At least not nearly interesting enough to be able to follow Geralt. And this was an issue in the books too. Plus she's not even a Witcher. She's just a generic fantasy heroine with special elf blood.

We unironically should have gone further back in time, but that was never what these fuckers were going to do with this series. It was clear with 3 they were going to go all in on Ciri no matter what.
And I might have actually had some minor excitement for this even if we have to be Ciri, if it wasn't for Netflix Witcher. I cannot imagine how pozzed this could end up in an attempt to line up with that.

Also that trailer just sucks. It's not creative. It has no identity. It's trying to mix that iconic Witcher 1 trailer with the "Killing Monsters" and "A Night To Remember" trailers. There's nothing else to it. Gay.

I agree with you on the trailer being ass, they tried really hard to copy the killing monsters TW3 teaser, but clearly missed the point of what made that one good in the first place.

You can tell this game was pitched and approved during peak current year. It didn't matter that they said Geralt's story was over, they could have gone back on it. I think setting it close to the start of the Orders would be better. Then it would make sense that you have to learn everything the hard way, instead of arbitrarily not knowing potion formulae, sign forms, or monster weaknesses.
