The Witcher Game Series

Gotta experiment with hairworks... Game runs without it at 60 at almost max settings with my GTX970 - let's see...
Is the School of the Roach mod worth it?
School of the Roach stopped being updated awhile ago (unless I'm wrong and they started working on it again). It was pretty fun, but I prefer the vanilla combat experience over any mods so far.

Even Geraldt of Rivia is getting mage pussy left, right and centre. Hell he's such a Chad thundercock that even he's adopted daughter Ciri wants to nibble on his scrotum.

Bought the full game in the sale. I've been playing it a lot, almost 40 hours in and I'm only level 20. Holy shit is this game long. After I'm done with the base game I have the two DLCs to do and I'm told the one with the southern European-esque setting is really nice.

It is very nice to see that CDPR put effort into patching the game way after the launch. Apparently I've been taking the click-right-stick-to-read-book feature for granted.

CDPR have added a lot of extra shit in patches. Couldn't name all the additions but the new menus, the alternate movement option, icon changes for mutagens to make them stand out more, option to enable upscaling, option to disable automatic sheathing/drawing, and additional dialogue with Triss/Yen/Ciri at specific points (waifufags were raving on about how they wanted to talk with their romances, dialogue is kinda iffy in my opinion. Triss has the shit end of the stick).

It's actually quite funny just how much of a neckbeard power fantasy Mary-Sue Geralt is. He's a "superior" social outcast reviled and feared by those who don't understand him and a master swordsman that feeeemales throw themselves at.

Not that I don't love the character, but I can totally imagine basement dweller types revering him as a character who they view as an embodiment of themselves.

Blood and Wine, set in Provence, sorry, Toussaint. A competently ruled land of peace, prosperity, pimped out dresses, and plonk. With a dark secret.

It also has a lot of bits where CDPR are taking the piss out themselves and suchlike.

Want to get back into it, but I promised myself after getting past the Baron I would go back and do Witcher 2 first becuase all the "hey remember last game" moments/decisions that I had no context for were annoying me, and christ that game is massive too.

Northern Realms gwent deck 4 lyfe

Heresy! It's all about Skellige Lockdown with King Bran as leader, Skellige Storm and Biting Frost cards, Cerys and her girl squad, Kambi, and the Bovine Defence Force. Having tons of cards is no good if they don't do anything when in play.

Yeah but what about all the siege units plus Foltest the Siegemaster. Get rid of all the hero cards except Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and Mysterious Elf. Then you can use the spies to draw your whole deck.

Skellige Storm acts as both Rain and Fog, while Bran's leader ability is that weather only affects your cards by halving their values, rather than reducing them to 1.

Also, Light Drakkar can summon a 4-boat tarpit, Cerys can summon her entire girl squad for a total of 34 points (I believe), and Bovine Defence Force and Kambi pop up in the next round by the time the opponent's already shot his load. And then there's Clan Dimun Pirate and Villentretenmerth just in case someone manages to get, say, all three Crones with a horn, or all three Crinfrid Reavers, or both Black Infantry, or both Catapults...

In my current run I'm holding off entering the Passiflora tournament until I've got all the Skellige cards from B&W to see if the dev team really did think of everything.

I always use the rain and frost cards as scorch shields, that way you’ve got a little protection when you have both catapults or pretty much every siege card

So I finally bought Hearts of Stone and I really like it, though not as much as Blood and Wine.

Is there a mod that adds more context-sensitive music? As in... more tracks?

Hearts of Stone is better than Blood and Wine in literally every way. It's also better than the base game. Hang your head in shame.
Blood and wine gave me a vineyard to sleep in instead of being a fucken homeless bum who meditates in the street
