The World Ends With You gets a sequel announced after 13 years of waiting. - THE POWER IS YET UNKNOWN

What? Kingdom Hearts?

The first game is great though, so I don't know how to feel.
For those uninformed, the TWEWY cast made a cameo in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.
Personally, I'm excited for this game to come out. Whatever you do, don't get the Switch version. I guarantee that it will not run well at all.

Hopes, Predictions, Concerns?
Considering everyone had given up hope for a sequel after all those announcements that all turned out to be remastered versions of the original, I'm feeling pretty giddy. I just hope the music is up to par. Didn't really feel it from the first track in the trailer but the second one definitely hit the spot.

I gotta admit, I never paid TWEWY any mind after being told about it by a high school "troon-in-waiting" lesbian. At the time, fangirls knew how to turn anything I thought could be interesting to garbage so that's on me, I guess.

Is it actually good?

I'd say so, the gameplay is pretty unique and if you don't like it, it's totally understandable. I recommend the DS version with the original hardware if you could manage it.

The city also made an appearance in the secret ending of KH3.
This scene probably takes place post-MoM if that game's ending is anything to go by.

Riku and Kairi go to the Final World and meet the Nameless Star. She says that Sora is probably in a world fall of tall buildings called Quadratum. That means square in Latin, because of course it does. Riku then creates a portal and travels through the world barrier to Quadratum.

It is good for an anime jrpg and the combat was interesting for a DS game. It is a little more down to earth then the typical anime rpg due to the more urban setting instead of high fantasy medieval without a ton of over complicated bullshit, and focuses a lot on things that I think the typical otaku teenager who'd play this game would go through.

It is a story about breaking out of your shell, coming into your own, and trusting people from the perspective of someone who is almost a complete shut-in who attempts to be an emo loner. I feel it is supposed to speak to the typical person who'd play something like this and essentially say "Hey stupid go outside and live a little instead of becoming an emo NEET". I feel it is one of those times where a game has a "deep message" that actually works with its intended audience, as opposed to forcing some shitty message at the last second to force some "deep" meaning.

I remember liking the first game on DS but I have zero memory of it so maybe it wasnt very good after all?

I didnt know anyone was waiting. Fuck dude thats like, I was an edgy teenager when that one came out.

Its a weird game where I felt like it was made because Nintendo needed a game to put the dual screen into DS.
the time for nomura needs to pass. you can be a hack with a good work ethic, but let's get someone else making some games shall we?
I kind of agree, Im kinda into that one artist Squaresoft had before Nomura, I miss the guy they had who made the artwork during like Final Fantasy 3 (the guy who drew Kefka and had these beautiful watercolors) and shit. I want some weird monsters and some real fantasy in my Final Fantasy, its all like bro trips now. And sure thats a fantasy, I wish I could go on a bro trip but fuck I dont want to go on a bro trip with Final Fantasy.
