The World Ends With You gets a sequel announced after 13 years of waiting. - THE POWER IS YET UNKNOWN

After months of radio silence, we were given a trailer and a release date, July 27th! It's also coming to PC on the Epic Games Launcher later this summer.
Kind of hope this is the box art.

I wanna say I'm shocked it's coming to Epic, but I ain't. I cannot imagine the cash Epic pony'ed up to get this game on their store, but they are also allowing Square to charge 200$ for the KH trilogy.

Squeenix probably struck a deal with Epic to put some of their new releases on their platform. Hopefully it'll be like the KH series where it doesn't have Denuvo.

Its 8 games in total I think, there are also already videos of mods for kh3
Is it 8 games? Because the way it's sold it's like 4 bundles and in total, they come to 200$. I guess I could see say KH3 since it's like a year old, but the other games? Get the fuck out Square.

Yeah, its KH1, CoM, KH2, BBS and the coded and 358/2 days movies in the I.5 + II.5 bundle.
DDD, BBS a fragmentary passage(pretty much a 2 hour demo for KH3) and the black cover movie for II.8, definitely the worst of the two collections
KH3 with all the dlc I believe and Memory of melody(the music game)
Edit: btw I am not saying it is worth it, the only one I think it is is KH3 because the console version doesnt run perfectly and it already comes with all the dlc

Never played the first one. Is the Switch port any good?
The best way to play the Switch version is in handheld mode with a tablet Stylus(I have an official Switch one myself). Docked mode has motion controls that aren't the most accurate and handheld mode forces you to use the touch screen. One of the few games I think would play better on the Lite than the base Switch(due to its smaller size), since it would be the closest you can get to how you play the DS version.

There are some nice things in this version, like crisper graphics and having all of the songs from the original Japanese version of the game(due to space limitation some songs were completely removed to make room for dubbed versions of various songs in the game, since some songs double-dipped by having both the original Japanese version and the English track). It also has the bit of extra content the iOS version added(Nothing groundbreaking, but it's there).

If you can deal with this obnoxious retard talking which may be hard, some gameplay has been shown for this game. I think they did a good job with the transition to 3D based off what I've seen. The remind system is cute as well and it seems to run pretty well on PS4, though the aliasing looks miserable. Hopefully the PC port will make things a little better but I'm not holding on for hope.

Anyone play it yet? I loved the first game as a kid and I’m looking for feedback before I jump into it.

I played a bit of the demo on switch and the transition to 3D was done really well and the gameplay is pretty fun. I'm gonna wait until the PC port comes out because the Switch isnt a very powerful console.

Bought it over here after the demo, and if you really want a good taste of it the demo should actually still be up on all console platforms. Like three whole ingame days of the first ( presumably ) week.

As for the full game? Fantastic so far. It was mentioned above that the transition to a fully 3D plane was pretty smooth, and my concerns for how they would not only try to succeed the awkward two screen battle system with four party members were pretty quickly alleviated.

The combat is definitely the most fun in the game so far, and it took me awhile to recognize the combat system for being a kind of weird, updated version of Valkyrie Profile. All four of your main buttons controls a player character, every player character can equip one Psyche tagged to a specific button, and all player characters share a single health bar. The transition between all four party member is instantaneous enough that the action never feels clumsy or delayed, and there's this big emphasis on setting up combos by finishing a specific Psyche's entire attack string and then quickly following it up with another character while balancing your recharge rate of each. I was really concerned that Pin collection wouldn't return or be limited, but so far the variety is still very much there.

As for story, I mean, I'm nearing the end of Week 1 yet and it's still too early to tell. You're getting exactly what you think of when you look at the cover, but I haven't cringed particularly hard yet. Might come back and post again when I'm totally finished.

I had not heard about this. Any word on when PC is coming around? Loved the original.
