I've played all the Mass Effect games and could never bring myself to finish 3 because... frankly it was fucking boring. I believe I tried twice and gave up around the time you fight the geth and you have to fight a virus (or whatever) inside... the Matrix? I don't know, it was dumb.
Anyway, my point is, I don't actually know how Mass Effect 3 ends, but I've always heard people say it was shit. Can I ask a kind Kiwi to summarize it for me? Obviously I could look online, but I'd rather get an unbiased opinion from you fine fellows, rather than some lunatic on the Internet with an agenda.
Thanks in advance, lads.
Basically, The Illusive man finds out that the citadel is the catalyst for the crucible super weapon and runs off to tell the reapers for some reason.
The Illusive man is spared by the reapers for some reason
The reapers then move the citadel to earth for some reason
Back on Earth there is a final push towards a giant teleportation beam that has been alluded to all game but served no real purpose until the reapers moved the citadel to earth which they only did because the Illusive man clued them in about Shepard/the Alliance's plan despite the Illusive man needing the crucible to enact his plan which he made several times harder by informing the reapers.
Shepard and Anderson make it into the beam amid Harbinger Zapping everything (Apart from the Normandy doing an emergency pick up)
Shepard deals with the Illusive man, Anderson Dies
Shepard gets levitated to somewhere where he meets the Exposition Child
Exposition Child lays out the Reapers flimsy Purpose, Shepard doesn't ask any meaningful questions
Shepard gets to pick a colour- Blue for control, Red for Destroy or Green for Synthesis and it's horrifying implications (If you picked Synthesis, you are also probably pro-vaccine. Just Saying)
Ending sequence are barely any different as you could see a few posts up, Extended cut isn't much better.
The end, Buy DLC consoomer
