The Worst Shows You Used to Watch When You Were a Kid - I.E. Childhood shows that make you cringe in retrospect.

The Lawrence Welk Show, hands down the worse show on television for a kid. Only having one channel pretty much sucked, this was before cable television, and no, I'm not that fucking old, 53. Any way, it came on right before Emergency which at the time was pretty dope. I had to sit through singing and dancing, show tunes, and polka music, etc...

"oh shit, that's the Cavity Goon!"
Cavity Goon was so weird. Like, why does he talk like a crime boss? His bitch is made of candy, that makes sense. But how do you anthropomorphize a cavity?

The Lawrence Welk Show
Oh... right. I saw a re-run of that. It was breathtakingly corny.

I once asked my mom why variety shows are so square. Mom said Liberace was considered a rock star. This was pre-Elvis days.

Bob and Margaret - an incredibly unfunny and depressing show about a British couple doing boring shit that I only watched because it was part of later evening cartoons and the alternative is going to bed. Though tbf it might simply been that I was too young to understand it.
I am watching this for the first time right now i dont know what it is but this is calming :) Thanks!

BRITISH (makes sense)?
I thought it was Canadian.

Seems like it was also shown on Comedy Central and one episode I saw a terrorist dome a stewardess blood everywhere lots of dick and tiddy this shit is lit.

I've gone through this entire thread and not one mention of California Dreams: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103380/

Really awful schmaltzy teen sitcom trying to follow in the success of Saved By the Bell but being much worse. Really, fucking bad show.

Nick News TV. No mentions of this which is weird. But I hated Nick News. It was boring. But it was always on Sundays and super early in the morning if you were unfortunate enough to wake up around 5-6 AM. Just a very lame piece of propaganda focusing on social issues (my oh my how prescient).

Liberty's Kids. Any educational cartoon was shit. I think the only exception to that rule was Hysteria which was tolerable at best.

I hate all Hanna Barbara cartoons as well. I never found them funny. NB4 Boomer rage.

The Brother's Flub. A really awful Nicktoon that was euthenized after one season. Obnoxious and unlikable characters with zero jokes, zero imagination, etcetera.

The Brother's Flub was so terrible this is the only bit of Trivia for it on IMDB:

Then the usual shit that's been mentioned like Rocket Power (AIDS that is somewhat fondly remembered and I think that's mostly by hipsters) and Captain Planet. You Zoomers have no idea how lucky you are that you live in an age where you can watch practically whatever you want whenever you want.

I remember hating that they took away the hour before Nick at Nite would come on to air this crap on Sunday evenings. It gave me that dreaded feeling of, "Great, time to go back to school."

Thanks for nothing, Linda Ellerbee.

They were all pretty bad. Hang Time, One World, Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Even the Saved by the Bell spin-offs were worthless.

The original SBTB was so cheap, so cloying, and so cynical that the badness turned around and became good. That energy can't really be captured again.

I just found it annoying that The Flintstones had a laugh track.

Nick News TV.
Strange, I don't remember that. With the exception of Double Dare, most of their live-action stuff bored me.

That obvious huh?

Man, what was wrong with me back then?
My little brother had this same problem. Bullies would ask if he liked the show and he'd answer honestly. We had to teach him to lie when asked this, which was very sad.

I don't get Hanna-Barbera's business model of crapping out tons of shitty shows instead of focusing on the popular ones and making those good. Disney Afternoon had the same problem.
